Hi, this morning my 2007 Focus turned over but wouldn't start, it sounded a bit weedy and tinny as well. It was fine yesterday. I don't know much about cars but am hoping to go away in it on Friday so wondered if it might be something fixable (at a garage) before then :0/ Thank you Read more

you must use the hyundai/kia reccomended transmission oil.

Like all automatics, the correct ATF MUST be used - in this case Hyundai SP-III but there will be Hyundai, Kia and Mitsubishi versions of it as well as good reputable third party products which are compatible - eg Fuchs Titan ATF 4400.

Hyundai SP-III is "just" a good Dexron 3 - but not all Dexron 3 is compatible with SP-III

You need to get a proper test on the starting /charging system.Could be a faulty alternator or possible connection problems.

Read with interest the article in the Daily Express on Saturday (Jennifer Selway) attributed to Keith Adams about the Top 20 cars that are dissapearing from UK roads as they have not achieved classic car status.

In our family we have a Y reg Sierra that has had just one owner and it is immaculate. My father keeps being advised by admirers (of the car) not to let it go for a silly price 'as it is worth something'. Trouble is how do you find out it's value?... Read more

Affordable Classics who are well known as suppliers of classic Fords have a 1983 Sierra for sale at £1895. By comparison a 1977 Capri is priced at £6495. In general it is the pre-80 Fords that are fetching good money – in particular RWD Escorts!

The brake lights come on briefly each time I depress the clutch. If I pull back on the brake pedal with the toe of my shoe, the problem goes away briefly but returns at some point after braking again. I think there is a sensor issue, but I've taken it into Frauds who, typically, found no problem... There is a problem, though. I first noticed it when towing my boat at night. It's not a towing issue, though, and whilst my wife was driving behind my car the other evening, she wondered why I was flashing my brake lights at her as I pulled away from junctions. I've also noticed it lots of time when driving at night and looking in the rear view mirror at the red reflections in road signs.
The car has made it through yet another MOT unscathed, so this is obviously not on their list of failure issues. The problem has been there for at least 3 years...

Apart from feeling a bit of a loon as I pull away from junctions, the car works exceptionally well, so I suppose I could just carry on as is. Just wondered if anyone else had come across this problem, or if there are any known solutions. Read more

I've had three Mercs. 2 c220 diesels and the present clk 3.2 W reg.
Had one problem with small rust patches on one of the 220s but Mercedes fixed it under warranty even though the car was a few years old. Other than that the cars have been pretty good and using a good indie really keeps the cost down on the servicing. The Clk does well on fuel with 30mpg on runs. Check the pads and discs before you buy too.
