Is it well overdue a service? Any chance that the brakes are dragging? Is the clutch slipping?
Need more info really.
any one know if you can tighten the rear view mirror as it vibrates when on the motorway which makes it hard to spot PC plod screaming up behind me! or is the only way to get vauxhall to fit a new one? cheers Read more
I''d love to hear what excuse they'd use to not cover it. I can't see "wear and tear" going far on a rearview mirror....a couple of months on warranty left although prob not covered!!
I recently took my 2006 diesel Accord into the local main dealer to have a new clutch fitted. After the work was done, the servicing manager remarked that on the test drive they performed, the VSA (traction control) light had lit up on the dashboard, indicating a failure of the unit. This light had never come on with me driving it previously.
Having briefly done some research into this online, I now realise that Honda issued a warranty extension for VSA units on diesel 7th gen. Accords to get them replaced free of charge as long as your mileage was below 62k. As my mileage is now around 72k, this obviously excludes me from the free fix, but the dealeris trying to negotiate a better price with Honda for the near £2k cost of replacing the VSA unit.... I recently replaced my VSA box with one I got from the Honda dealer for Euro512.
It was a honda reconditioned unit, apperantly they have decided to sell recon units as the problem has persisted for older/high milage cars....
Hi! I notice that under the kuga 08 review on 24.03.13 it states that this is a common problem on these cars but can be over ridden. What does this mean? I have got the part on prder but if I can get away with not doing it I would rather that. Read more
Not too sure how it is possible to override the system,it is part of the safety features of the car and critical for the abs/esp to work correctly.hth
i was at my son's school this morning. There are yellow keep clear signs in front of the school. Beyond the signs the road tapers into a single lane and there are white solid lines on both sides of the road. I stopped on the white solid line for about 20 seconds to let my wife out and there was no other traffic I was holding up. A policeman appeared and was quite aggressive and thretened me he was going to issue me a ticket for stopping on a white line and a single lane and asked me "dont you read the highway code" I had a look at highway code and cannot find anything to say one should not stop in a single lane. Did I read here that the 4x4 Yeti isn't 4x4 in reverse? Ours is!
We carefully tried ours on very steep wet grass [famously slippery] field and the Yeti, apart from a surprising clutch-burn smell, was great while our 2 farm Defenders were, to the surprise of none here were slipping about like slippery- s***-off-a-shining-shovel ... as per usual. This is because Defenders notoriously have only a central diff-lock which, sure, sends drive to the front & back axles but then have no limited-slip or locking diffs. Which is why Defenders can be totally USELESS if, for instance, you put one side in a ditch. I've seen us having to tow the sheep-feed up steeply cambered icy tracks with our old Subaru Imprezza Turbo because a Defender would have 2 uselessly spinning wheels in the lower ice-filled track while the upper wheels sat their doing f-all!... You're not alone Avant.
But the TRUTH is as a nice poster on the PistonHeads website absolutely correctly says about a Defender,...
