Anyone know who made the OE discs for this model so that I can steer clear of them?So many to choose from on ebay, all say made to OE standard....which in this case is not confidence inspiring!

Anyone had good mileage from a particular brand?... Read more

I've had issues with squeaky/screechy noises from the rear prop shaft, and have had a new universal joint fitted, which has partially fixed the problem. However, there is still a squeaking/squealing noise after about 15 minutes driving/over 50 MPH.

I've been advised to change the rear differential oil, but I am completely and utterly un-mechanically minded/skilled, and really don't know how to do this/where to start!... Read more

You need to find out if there is an actual drain plug if there is find out what type of oil and how much is required.I very much doubt if changing the oil will cure your problem but its worth a try.

Driving to see a friend in Liverpool early hours tuesday morning (Around 1.30am) on the M6 northbound between junctions 18 - 19 i was involved in an accident.
Minutes before a lorry had blown a tyre, shredding its FULL tyre across the motorway.

In this section of motorway there is no lighting other than cats eyes on the lanes, in the distance i saw a police car and flashing lights, i guessed something was wrong on the hard shoulder but decreased my speed a little, i then noticed a man with a flashing torch, in this case i realised something was wrong, before i had time to hit the break i had hit the full lorry tyre head on causing my front wheels to come off the ground and me to lose all streering. Through some form of fate or luck i ended safely in the hard shoulder next to 5-6 other cars which had done the same or at least clipped the tyre.

The car has ripped my radiator off, done some other engine damage, ripped my bumper off and i fear it has done damger underneith the car too where it has gotten wedged.

I have tried to claim through the lorry drivers insurance because its clerly not my fault in the slightest and they say nothing can be done as its just a blown tyre / act of god. Now i am a lot of money down after getting my car towed, taxis to liverpool, and being stranded in liverpool for a few days. im sure there is someone to blame to claim from.

I am third party fire and theft so i cant claim on my own, but i wouldnt want to anyway as i know its not my fault, and it wouldnt of happened had that lorry not been there.... Read more

Best slow down a bit and keep a look out for unforeseen hazards then.

Err........Black rubber, on a black surface, on an unlit road. I'd like to see you miss this kind of debris with those conditions and possibly in heavy rain. Even if you had prior knowledge it was in the road ahead. Unless you creep along mimsing just in case....

Hi I have a v reg ford focus. I think it has a fuel leak as the petrol warning light is always on even after I've put petrol in. However lately it has developed another problem whereby it cuts out at low revs, and sometimes the speedometer doesn't work and ill be driving along but it's at zero. when first started in morning it starts up easily but seems to struggle to move away as if the petrol isn't getting through.

I know it can't be diagnosed on a forum but any idea as to what it roughly could be and likely costs? I'm going to take it to a garage but just wanted a heads up.

Thanks

There was a "deal" whereby you could get the instrument cluster on a Focus replaced for a fixed fee, I think it was £100.

Might be worth looking back through the "BBC Watchdog" website for more info, or just ask your Ford Main Dealer....

Is it well overdue a service? Any chance that the brakes are dragging? Is the clutch slipping?

Need more info really.

a couple of months on warranty left although prob not covered!!

I''d love to hear what excuse they'd use to not cover it. I can't see "wear and tear" going far on a rearview mirror....

I recently took my 2006 diesel Accord into the local main dealer to have a new clutch fitted. After the work was done, the servicing manager remarked that on the test drive they performed, the VSA (traction control) light had lit up on the dashboard, indicating a failure of the unit. This light had never come on with me driving it previously.

Having briefly done some research into this online, I now realise that Honda issued a warranty extension for VSA units on diesel 7th gen. Accords to get them replaced free of charge as long as your mileage was below 62k. As my mileage is now around 72k, this obviously excludes me from the free fix, but the dealeris trying to negotiate a better price with Honda for the near £2k cost of replacing the VSA unit.... I recently replaced my VSA box with one I got from the Honda dealer for Euro512.

It was a honda reconditioned unit, apperantly they have decided to sell recon units as the problem has persisted for older/high milage cars....

Hi! I notice that under the kuga 08 review on 24.03.13 it states that this is a common problem on these cars but can be over ridden. What does this mean? I have got the part on prder but if I can get away with not doing it I would rather that. Read more

Not too sure how it is possible to override the system,it is part of the safety features of the car and critical for the abs/esp to work correctly.hth
