Hi there, We have a problem with our newly purchased 1.6d Berlingo. When the engine has been running for approx 15mins we have a very annoying fault that is getting worse, we loose power in the engine once warm. We have changed the air filter, fuel pump, fuel additive to clean. When put on the computer nothing seems to come up although the garage has now decided that there is an electrical fault and disconnected the 'Muff'. This has all been very expensive and we are now concerned that something in the engine has been unplugged, surely we need it. Please can anyone help with some advice as the problem seems only temporarily solved. Thankyou. Read more

Things are about to get hot in the city SUV sector. Nissan Juke's rule faces a serious challenger in this striking Renault Captur which also comfortably beats Vauxhall Mokka and Fiat Panda Trekking. Great looks, efficient engines. With the right pricing I don't see why this car shouldn't be a sales success for the French marque. Read more

Car cut out when driving. When I tried to restart it,both the green and red lights came on together and won't start.

Mechanic and auto-electrician have had a look at it,no mechanical faults showing on diagnostics.... Read more

Hi,

Have you fixed this? We seem to have the same problem, can I ask what happened to you?...

Gentlemen and Ladies,

Since my diesel car last ran out of fuel ... my car has a habit of over rev'ing and surging at low rev's and also starting to drag (choke) then release itself and accelorate away again - while I am driving on the motorway at say... 70 mph around the 3000 rev's - then surging and giving me so much power that i have to brake to maintain the speed limit.... Have you had a fault code read carried out? Your other post does not describe the problem as well as this one so I don't think it is idle fuelling boost. What is your engine type code, AEF or AGD?

Hi all, I'd welcome your advice before I get my wallet out. I recently noticed a slight drag when coasting. Further investigation revealed one very hot front wheel, the other wheels where all normal. Braking remains effective as far as slowing down is concerned. I removed the caliper checked slide pins and fit of pads - all looked perfectly okay. However, the problem remains after refitting the caliper and pads. Am I correct in thinking that the piston is probably seizing in the bore of the caliper and not returning properly? Is the next step an exchange calliper? Opinions much appreciated. Read more

My wife sometimes runs on nearly empty. Then we had a noticeable drop in car performance.. having to go up hills in 1 or 2. Noticed the red light was on and we had an engine system warning. Thought it might be the dpf and after checking oil and water I decided to raise the pressure on the sytem to get rid of any clogging in the dpf. I accomplished this when stationery and I could rev the engine as much as I wanted. A cloud of smoke came out. But still the problem persisted of lack of power when driving up hills. I replaced the air filter and cleaned out the egr valve. I noticed one of my sensor plugs which mixes the air ratio was full of oil which must have drained down the sensor. I have dried it out and cleaned out the air tubes using a cotton bud to remove dirt. I also cleaned the Maf sensor. Over a period of time previously there has been some oil which has been getting sucked out of the oil breathing tube towards the turbo. I regularly clean this out and the turbo feels solid. However some oil has come in there. Did a scan on engine code P0001 coming up. I feel a bit stuck and in doldrums at the moment. Very greatful for any advice

Most probably the resistor ,as mentioned, but could be a overheated connector plug.Access is a real pain.It is at the top of the heater box, driver side,in air ducting.Removing the instrument pod gives a little more a room .hth
