I wonder if I can ask a little advice on buying a used Yaris... Read more
armrest drops with slightest pressure , can anyone tell me if its possible to repair or do i need to replace the whole seat or at least the seat back .any advice appreciated Read more
Glue or block of wood or remove spacer washer and tighten bolt fully.
It depends on the design, a bit of a bodge might be in order, i'd be inclined to drill and bolt in place if needs be....
The LA brought back a former restriction on local road ie: No right turn Fairbridge/ Hornsey Rd N19 [ recent road works & new road built] been using 3-4x a week for last few years, taking photos before sign put up then doctored time on camera for their evidence sending a locked DVD too.
Google Earth have it as viable route . Only started using when policeman told me a viable route before 1996 .Street Management ignored date instralled even when sent aFOI before Appeal.... Read more
The question is not whether the route is viable on Google but whether the Council went through the correct process/signage. If they did then you're liable. If they really did doctor their evidence that's a serious matter. The out of London adjudicator found such a case up north and it went to Crown Court - perverting the course etc.
What do you mean about a locked DVD - presumably the CCTV of the infringement, how else would they send it? ...
I am interested in a buying a Ford Mondeo car , its a lovely drive . The problem is that it has slight bubble rust by the petrol cap ( has been resprayed). There are many faults that can cause LHM on a Laguna some not shown on the code reader I suggest you google the problem on this site it should give you hundreds of mails, probably the worst car engine combination ever built for going into LHM it will be probably better to get rid of the car if the problem cannot be found easily.
The trip computer will not display any readings. When I push on the end of the stalk there is hardlly any movement. All other displays are fine. Read more
If the speedo is working OK I would expect the fault to be in the unit itself.
What problems might I encounter from buying a 2005 Suzuki alto with 500 ( yes 500) miles on the clock. Garaged from new. Serviced every year.
Brakes might have some surface rust, battery flat, other than that?
Would £1000 be a good price

My uncle used to do 70 miles a day mostly b-road that's might have cause suspension fail, this include school runs and to work occasionally 100 mile trip to Manchester and Sheffield. The alto lives a really tough life, my uncle treat it like s*** just yearly mot and basic servicing, not even bother to wash it properly now the red colour has become faint pink. This car is really meant to be a basic transport, the ride is really harsh, build quality is so so but it serves as a really robust car, now the car only use for town run as he bought a used bluemotion Touran ramming up the mileage.
Any advice how to destroy Ivy as regular weedkillers don't seem to work. Read more
I've got ivy on my neighbours boundaries and found a good dosing of SBK does the trick. I do pull out the bits I can.
Someone clicked on 'shortest' rather than 'quickest'.

Many thanks for reply, I will keep these in mind.
The model is T2 VVTi 3-door hatchback, petrol, manual transmission, 998cc, silver, 55 plate (year 2005)....
