Hi All, I am picking up an X-reg Honda Accord on Saturday, and it is coming with only 1 key, and no r/c/l fob. I am told that r/c/l was standard on this model, so I reckon I will need to buy a new fob.

How can I tell what kind of fob i need (ie IR or RF?), and does the method of turning the ignition on and off and pressing the button (there is a bit more to it than that!) actually work?... Read more

This uses a 2 button r/f fob (lock/unlock).Available from Honda at around £50.The sequence for programming does work as long as it is done within a certain time period.hth

Hot Fuse

I'm impressed with the 250,000 miles! I'm no expert but how would a dodgy turbo cause it to cut out? Power loss yes.

my wipers on my scenic 2 stopped working, I checked and replaced the 25

amp fuse in the fusebox under the bonnet but it blew up again as soon I turned on the ignition, I removed the wiper motor and connection changed the fuse again but as soon as I turn the ignition on with the wiper switch off the fuse blows again. the windscreen wash and rear wiper which are operated by same switch still work. It's probably a short circuit but where?... Read more

I have a Honda CRV 2.0Vtec petrol 2002 which is second hand, 70,00 miles full Honda service history. 2 weeks ago, in the pouring rain, the engine coughed twice and the revs dropped by 50% and the engine management warning light came on. My local garage plugged it in and it came up with VVT (variable valve timing). The garage reset it and its been driving like a dream until yesterday when, once again in the biblical rain!, the same problem occured. On talking to a Honda specialist they are saying it could need a new camshaft as it "was a known problem with the 2002 model". Has anyone heard of this before? Any thoughts on my problem? Camshaft sensor maybe? Help most welcome Read more

Yes v 2002 model did have camshaft problems and its manifested by clicking engine sound.Comes worst dent will be notice on cam lobe when top cover is taken out. Suggestion have your v be tune up if the camshaft has cam lobe dent or mark but ultimately have it change sooner.

Some days my car sounds like a an old stye diesel lorry {clatter ,clatter} when I put my down as I accelarate up through the gears. Other days it as quiet as the petrol car I used to drive. I'm new to diesels having always driven petrol models, is this something that is normal to diesels. There is 28K on the clock Read more

They tend to be louder when cold and when the air temperature is low but should quieten as they warm up, if yours is noisy when hot I would suspect that you have an electronic control problem or possibly a faulty injector, you really need to get the fault codes read.

I heard costco doing good deals on michelin tyres. I need a full set of 4 tyres before winter and have always had continental premium contact 2 or michelin energy

I was wondering if anyone knew a recent price for tyres as they wont give me a price before signing as a member. (Keeping in mind I would have to pay £23)... Read more
