Ordered a pollen filter for SWMBO 2007 1.4l Getz. However I see the manual mentions TWO filters. I checked with the vendor, who confirmed I'd ordered correctly, before I read the drivers manual. So, who is right? Read more
I need some advice from you knoledgable people
live on a busy road, a bus stop opposite te house a junction 100 meters or so to the left. Paid for a drive a few years ago when I moved in off the road. Where we live I have noticed over the last few years more and more people taking their work vans home and hindering a lot of people with their inconsiderate parking antics.At the moment a van is parked near where we live partly blocking the foot path with a flat tyre for a few weeks now.I wonder if these people have a certain mindset stuff every body I do what I like.Problaby they have thats why they are agressive till they meet somebody who is bigger than them unfortenately.
A friend of mine owns a Volvo V70. There is a bad smell coming from the vent. The cabin filter was changed. What else might be making the interior smelling, and can the air conditioning be to blame for this at all?

Most probably a block drain in the condensor AC or just mouldy. There are treatments available. Post on www.Volvoclub.org.uk in the appropriate section. Regards Peter

If there are no codes it is often due to a faulty MAF sensor, which is the air flow sensor in the trunking, usually close to the air filter but don't know about the Galaxy.
Try unplugging the cable & see if there is an improvement....

Thanks very much for your response. As it turned out, my offer was rejected as a dealership valued the car at nearer £6k so I walked away....
I want to remove the rear sliding seats on my Micra to give me more load space.
Fitted in the R/H plastic trim that covers the rear mounting position of the sliding seat frame there is an electrical plastic item (Switch?) that is about 70mm x 19mm x 8mm.... Read more
For interest, I believe it is the rear antenna for the door lock system. The manual states that this is under the rear seat.
There's nothing there except access to the fuel tank unit also the line drawing shows an item similar to to the item I have queried about..
I have a Honda CRV 2.0Vtec petrol 2002 which is second hand, 70,00 miles full Honda service history. 2 weeks ago, in the pouring rain, the engine coughed twice and the revs dropped by 50% and the engine management warning light came on. My local garage plugged it in and it came up with VVT (variable valve timing). The garage reset it and its been driving like a dream until yesterday when, once again in the biblical rain!, the same problem occured. On talking to a Honda specialist they are saying it could need a new camshaft as it "was a known problem with the 2002 model". Has anyone heard of this before? Any thoughts on my problem? Thanks bigtee your answer makes a lot of sense; I may have got further with my problem. A "friendly face" at my local main dealer has suggested I first change the oil and filter as older thicker oil can cause the sensor to give out the wrong signal. It's not due a service for another 3,000 miles but he says it's definately worth a shot - he's heard of the problem before and this has solved it. If this does the trick I'll post up a note.

Hi Guys,
This is my first post. Apolgoies if this is in the wrong section.
I've recently purchased a 2001 Y Reg Focus 1.6 Ghia. The power steering on this works so so when the cars been driven around for more than an hour but is pretty useless when started from cold for short journeys.
I've checked my reservoir and the fluid is almost black/ dark reddish black. I'm guessing the fluid needs to be changed.
Checked owners manual and it says use Mercon ATF which I've read is no longer produced. The newest version is Mercon V apparently.
I've also read that Mercon V maybe compatible with Dexron III which is what Halfords sells at the moment. They also sell Ford ESP-M2C-166H compatible fluid which is not what is required I think. Also read something about Mobil 1 ATF.
Can someone pls help where can I get this in the UK or would Dexron III/ Mobil 1 ATF work. I'd like to get this changed this weekend if possible as its really a pain driving without a proper power steering.
