Hi all,
I'm looking for some advice - about 3 months ago I bought an Audi A6 Avant from a dealer in Hertfordshire. The car is 11 years old and has an LPG conversion and a reasonable looking service history. Indeed the car is in good nick in most respects with nothing really wrong that you wouldn't expect to find on a 11 year old car. Recently I had the cambelt changed at an Audi main dealer and their inspection turned up nothing untoward except normal wear and tear on the suspension and brakes.... Read more
Please can anyone help, i have had a few issues with my car it keeps going into limp mode mainly when car is under pressure ie going up hill or over 60 mph it just feels gutless like the turbo isnt doing its job but i can still here it spooling up.
My friend has vag com and the following fault codes are coming up:... Read more
I'm not a techie, but I have a 2000X 115 PD Audi A4 and a couple of years ago it seemed to be lacking power and the turbo wasn't cutting in. The local indie diagnosed MAF (I think) and replaced it. It cost about £200 iirc but it made the car run like new, and it still does at 114k miles.
My sons 2003 86000 miles Fiesta 1.4 has developed a problem with the clutch. It’s not slipping but when setting off and particularly in reverse it doesn’t seem to disengage fully leading to a bit of grinding in the gears. Fluid level is OK and I can’t see any sign of a leak. Is there any adjustment? Any ideas?
Its most likley the hydraulics failing, however if the slave cylinder needs replaceing the gearbox needs to be removed so best to slip a clutch in at the same time.
Whan I use the screen wash the interior light flickers and sometimes the door open warning light comes on and then the central locking will only work with the key not the push button.
Any help, advice gratefully accepted. Read more

The wifes got an 02 plate Xsara HDi, and since we bought it about 3 months ago, there has been the most annoying wheel wobble under braking. Some times it was so violent, you would have thought the wheels were going to drop off.
Since buying it, the following have been changed:... Read more
I would hazzard a guess at worn ball joints or other worn steering or suspension parts, you would feel a oval tyre at all speeds although its a possibility the other common fault with the steering is a badly worn steering rack which would give the systems you describe probably why the last owner sold it.
Please could someone help me.
Took car for MOT on Tuesday (5days ago), failed... Read more
They check the brake fluid and water under the bonnet on an MOT surely, and something as glaringly obvious as a missing oil fillercap must be noticed. If its a very weak-fitting cap it could be pushed out by very, very bad blowby perhaps - unlikely though.

Ordered a pollen filter for SWMBO 2007 1.4l Getz. However I see the manual mentions TWO filters. I checked with the vendor, who confirmed I'd ordered correctly, before I read the drivers manual. So, who is right? Read more

Where we live I have noticed over the last few years more and more people taking their work vans home and hindering a lot of people with their inconsiderate parking antics. At the moment a van is parked near where we live partly blocking the foot path with a flat tyre for a few weeks now.I wonder if these people have a certain mindset stuff every body I do what I like.Problaby they have thats why they are agressive till they meet somebody who is bigger than them unfortenately.

Hello Bonzo, you have got a point there its a bit of a minefield with these LPG conversions.I am getting the inpression that a lot of people who do these conversions arn't hundred percent sure what they are doing. And the aftercare isn't what it should be .I do agree if you are not sure about LPG and its pitfalls and different systems leave well alone.
