many thanks for all your replies,

it was the mounts that was the problem they were nacked, and a short throttle cable that was fitted before i got the car, so because there was no slack so the slightest touch sent the car full belt ,every time the engine started jumping inturn threw me about ,my foot touched the throttle which made the car jump more ,so now its fixed and i cannot wait for that smooth drive.ONCE AGAIN THANKS

Whats wrong with the standard lights it seems like you are going to a lot of time ,money and trouble to make the car non standard that probably will not comply with its registered spec.I did 83k in my Saab 93 2007 and never had a problem seeing or being seen.

'04 golf iv petrol. seems there is something wrong with the shifter. normally you have to push down on the knob to get it to go into reverse, but when you stop pushing it springs back up. now, when i push down, it stays down. you can shift into reverse while it's down, but you have to manually 'pull' the shift knob up when you're finished. has the spring failed? can i just replace the boot or is there something else that may have gone? the reverse lockout spring was fine before i brought the car to the dealership to get the vibrations looked at. i had to fight with them a bit to get the car looked at (they said everything is normal and it's under warranty).

when i got home from the dealership after they fixed the hanger, i noticed the shifter was getting stuck. the dealership says they don't know what i'm talking about and it's my problem now. that's why i'm trying to figure out how to fix it myself.

hi, got an '04 2.0L golf iv 2.0 with 60000 mi. recently the shifter started vibrating while driving. it starts buzzing at about 2200 rpm, doesn't matter what gear or if the car is loaded or stationary in neutral. vibes worst in 1, 3, 5. it's annoying in 2, 4 but not as bad.

took the car to the dealer, they said they found the front exhaust hanger had come unwelded. they rewelded it but this didn't fix the problem. they say the vibrations must be normal then. (they're not.) ... Read more

i had the windows down while driving today and i notice the engine really rattles now. it's like a tinny ticking noise whose frequency is rpm-dependant.

Hi, has anyone got any suggestions regarding my 2003 Vauxall Movano 2.5 dti? It has lost power but still starts and drives. It feels like the turbo is not working but there is no smoke or noise. I have had the ecu read for fault codes and it came up with... Glow plug... Crankshaft sensor... Air mas meter. I have changed the crankshaft sensor, but no change. I does not have an Air mas meter, I checked the engine and checked with vauxhall. Can't imagine a glow plug causing this problem.

I tried to locate the egr valve to check that, but can't find one...????... Read more

After a short break in the UK and all the aggressive driving and speed cameras at every turn, it's great to be back in Spain and return to the 'normality' of driving here.

Tonight for example, I was cheerfully overtaken...... Read more

Erm, Sid,

I wondered about this "spanish practise" until I sussed that the Spanish Drivers ABSOLUTLY obey the centre line markings so if the side of the road you are on is hatched & tother side is solid, hey overtake on a bend , there will NOT be an overtaking car comin in the other direction and there is plenty of width or room for three veh abreast....

Saw a car today with the mirror wording of MOVE OVER on thefront of bonnet.

Now if that appeared in your mirror do you think that maybe moving over might take a little longer than normal!!!??... Read more

In the wilds of Australia a while ago, I was being tailgated by a young lady complete with Range Rover and horse box. On a short straight, I slowed down and she floored it past. I just had time to read her bumper sticker - quote, Yes! As a matter of fact, I do own the road. unquote. I didn't enquire of the horse what it thought of her driving.

Does anyone know how to reset the window memory? I had some work done on the car which involved disconnecting the battery and now the window does'nt automaticly continue to close when I press the switch, I have to hold it down. Niggley but annoying! Read more

I had this problem, albeit with my audi. I had to close the window by holding the button down and then continue to hold it for 10 seconds. The dealership told me to do this over the phone, a quick and easy solution. I guess Ford would be able to do the same?.
