This article will appeal to all you self opiniated backroomers. Now you have your chance to do some real policing and report middle lane hoggers, fog light users, people not sticking to the (speed limit+10%+10mph) / getoutofmyway rule, inconsiderate parkers, people you dont like etc. etc.

What a load of old carp. But then it is in the daily wail. Niallster's right. letters mean nothing. Send a summons (not forgetting the 6 month time limit) and I'll defend myself adding a call for all 'witnesses'. First step will be proving that I was the driver....

Hello

I have recently noticed a problem with the level of noise my car is making

Recently had the exhaust changed (both parts) as I noticed black deposits round the bumper area near the exhaust pipe.

That and I found it was making a god awful noise at anywhere between 25mph and 70mph. A really loud dull buzzing noise which increases in volume as I accelerate. Any ideas? Read more

Hello there. I urgently need some advice on my car.

Got a Rover 25, 2.0l TD. It overheated about a week ago and upon inspection I noticed the water tank empty. I check the oil and water every month so after it had cooled I filled it up and noticed water dripping from the top of the pipe above the d-clip. I had no choice but to drive the last 15 minutes home. Got home and the water tank was empty again. I ran it for the next 3 days to get to work by just filling the water up every morning ( I know this was probaly stupid but i had no choice, its very early morning shifts in the middle of nowhere) 20 minutes there and back.... I had an oil change done on my Nissan today and the garage use Valvoline, also an easy name to get confused with Havoline. From what I've read Valvoline is an American company with a good reputation in America, but how common is the oil here and is a litre to carry around for emergencies easy to buy in Britain? Thankyou, I was talking to a former Ford technician last night and he says Valvoline is a good, durable oil.

Considering buying new Golf 2.0 tdi 140. I had intended taking delivery in January/February however dealer says price will be more as the 2.5% increase will take effect in the New Year and also a manufacturer price increase always on the cards in January. Do the backroomers think the prices will increase significantly in the New Year for this model? According to the salesman their dealership has not noticed the recession! My thinking was that after the spending review in Oct and more job losses on the way, the manufactures would try and absorb any price increase but maybe I`m wrong Read more

Car sales are notoriously slow post Christmas, haggle hard and expect a huge discount easity wiping out the 2.5% increase, none forthcoming? Walk away, there are plenty of dealers out there who want your hard-earned. Get some internet prices to use as a bargaining tool.

As per my last post. Having called the workshop a number of time over the past 3 weeks to get news of my car, I was told that the cylinder head had cracked and that the head had been sent away for repair.

It was back in the workshop just over a week ago. I called this afternoon to see if it was ready only to be told that there seems to be 2 other problems also and that it may be ready at the end of next week!... Read more
