Good afternoon all, first time post on here but long time reader, hoping that someone can assist with a situation I have.
Recently I purchased a 4 year old Renault Scenic, and chose to purchase a 1 year mechanical breakdown insurance for piece of mind. Recently, both the drivers and passenger front windows have stopped working, and also the dash display has become intermittant.... Read more

I have just bought a 3 year old Colt CZ1 from a main Mitsubishi dealer. I noticed that there is a high pitched buzz /ringing when turning the ignition to the ON position - before starting the engine. The noise is also there when the engine is running. It's not loud - you only really notice when on tickover. I never noticed it during the test drive... Anyone else with a Mitsubishi Colt who could let me know if theirs is the same? Read more
The beep before ignition can be door or seatbelt. The random beeping during driving was hard to identify. In my case it was when the radio lost the signal of the station and tried to find another one.
I am not sure but I think I may have turned right at a set of traffic lights as I went to sutton in surrey from Carshalton. This is a regular journey and I was not concentrating properly this time, preoccupied with other matter and worries. What is the worst that could happen and can I be sure that any cameras did pick me up? No excuses it was my fault and I wish I had been more vigilent. I consider myself a safe driver and have never had any sort of ticket or fine in over 15 years am I heading for a first? Very annoyed with myself. please advise, thank you Read more
I would recommend a reading or a re-reading of George Orwell. It's not the damage they can do physically but the damage they can do mentally.
In the past week I've had to drop people off in bus stops, now I read about people that have been prosecuted and scammed for that innocuous and safe procedure....
I passed my test a few months ago (a bit late, as I'm now 30 years old) so am still a bit of a nervous driver.
On Saturday evening I made a trip to Enfield and enroute to my destination took a wrong turn. I came to some traffic lights which were red, but I was concentrating to hard to looking aroudn for road signs that I went over the line before I stopped. I didn't pull out into the junction, but I was stopped just on the crossing - I couldn't reverrse back as another car had come close behind me.... Read more
I was sitting at traffic lights yesterday and the ones opposite turned green before mine. As I sat there, I watched several vehicles drive legally across the white line, although the camera flashed on three occasions.
None of these cameras are reliable.
Can anyone help? Mondeo 2004 2.0L Duratec engine. The engine management and battery light started to flash simultaneously and the engine lost power. Starter does not even swing now. No previous warnings or problems. Read more

PS I remember when many employers had a motor club. I was a member of the unilever one - mainly for access to their tools. I remember borrowing a decent torque wrench, ramps, axle stands, road spring compressors, and valve spring compressors at various times (my cars were a bit less reliable in those days!)
I had a knocking in my front suspension which turned out to be a lose drop link bolt. I had new drop links fitted by the garage in March last year (2009) and when I spoke to them about this they said it was too long ago for them to be able yo do anything about it. My question is if the work was done properly with new nuts used and tightened to the specific torque, should this have really happened and should I challenge them further about this? Read more

Thanks for all your help, i phoned the court and explained to the lady my concerns, that i was insured but missed the date to produce, and asked about the change of court date, she said OOH just fill out the ple form with a tick for not guilty and write a letter along side it explaining about the different regestrations on the car, and also ask for the adjournment because i wont be in the country.
so im sort of at ease... for now anyways...
