Hope someone can point me in the right direction here, bought the car a few months ago, air con has never worked. When you turn on the air con, the air con light comes on, there is a boost in the amount of air coming through the vents but it is not cold. Took it down to kwik fit as they do a no fix no fee recharge. Guy said he charged it and there were no leaks, but he couldnt hear the compressor kicking in. Is there any diagnostic I can do to narrow down the problem or should I just get a 2nd hand comp and have a go? Read more
Thanksmate, can anyone recommend someonefriendly around the Liverpool / Warington area?
I'm breaking up and selling off parts from my mum's 1994 K11. It's only covered 42k from new and is being sc***ped following gearbox failure and an accident while awaiting recovery (truck hit it!).
Does anyone know if the 1.3l (1275cc) engine is compatible with the manual gearbox version? I'd hate to sell an incompatible unit to someone in error.... Read more

I bought a used Jaguar X type just under 3 months ago and I was given a 3 month warranty with it.

My mum's struggling to change gear now due to arthritis, and so we're starting to look for an automatic so that she's still able to do everything that she wants to.

M-in-Law bought a Citroen Saxo 1.4 petrol aoutomatic from her neighbour a couple of years ago. It's on a Y plate- cost her £1700 with genuine history and only 34k. Now on 39k. Has not missed a beat and I can vouch for it as I had to use it for a week recently whilst my Citroen Xsara was off the road - failed ECU sent away for repair.
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience covering over 350 miles commuting to work. The car drove beautifully and I got 45mpg out of it. Thy are rare and late models up to 2002-03 will fetch a good price still (somewhere around £2 -2.5K)
A friend of mine was foolish enough to loan a car to an individual who drove it with no insurance and was involved in an accident.

If there was an insurance policy on the vehicle then it does not matter whether the driver was insured for the car or not, there is a potential claim against the policy if the driver was at fault. This can apply even if the vehicle is stolen.
The MIB will only act as insurer of last resort if there is no insurance whatsoever in place....

I wish I knew the answer because I have had a succession of Citroen XMs, on most of them you almost need both feet to push the clutch out but the one I have now is as light as a feather, it was new just before I bought the car but I have another one with a new clutch and that is nearly as heavy as the others. I suspect it has been fitted with the wrong clutch but it works perfectly.
