This 2005 car has been great since the new steering rack last year (see previous) now I have a curious intermittent drive train vibration which only occurs when towing a two hourse trailer up a medium hill at about 50 to 60. Very occasionaly it occurs on the flat at about 70 when not towing. It feels like drive shaft/ gearbox but could be engine related.

My golf has a loud clicking/tapping noise when I reverse, all other gears are ok, this is worrying me and I would like to know if its serious, the car still reverses just has this noise. I want to take it to a garage but do not want to be pressured into a new gearbox if its not required. can somebody help,

I'm sorry, but I have no idea which would be cheaper (assuming the problem is a broken gear tooth, like I suggested, but it might not be).
While pricing service parts for my car I noticed a hugh differance in the price of types of spark plugs and air fiters from the same motor factors. What is the differance? Only the most expensive last longer ot do you noticibly get better preformance? Read more
I have a company car, the car is owned by a big fleet company, and when the car arrived,there had been an admin error, and one digit on the number plate was different to the log book. I have never seen the log book, as the fleet company keep it, and only realised the mistake when I took it for a service as the plates didn't tie up with the chassis number.
So I highlighted it again and again with the fleet company, who eventually sent me a new set of plates, but they were EXACTLY the same as the originals! Then I went off on long term mat leave, hardly drove very much and didn't really think too much about any of this. I know it's foolish, and naive but I sort of thought it didn't matter, and that my fleet had told DVLA. It's been MOT'd a couple of times and the MOT was signed off no problem each time too.... You cannot do anything else at the moment other than to do a deal with the council on the existing tickets and see what else turns up.
If you are a resonably competent driver you will not have incurred hundreds of speeding tickets or congestion charge penalties and you probably have nothing to worry about.

I have the following problem with my 55reg (2006 model) Mitsubishi Grandis 2.0 diesel (VW engine):
It starts fine in the mornings. When I drive it a little, then stop and try to start again after a few minutes the engine starts but then stops again straight away. After up to 10 attempts it starts fine. Sometimes it helps to lock/unlock the car. No warning lights on the dahboard.

I have had this car from new, using a Nokia 6310i with Bluetooth. Phone has packed up and need new with Bluetooth compatible with the BMW's. Have checked out the BMW site for compatability, but cannot enter my model year, possibly because it's too old? Anyone help please? Read more
Thats more like it,actually you can get UK 6310i recon phones with proper Nokia mother boards and proper Nokia cases just google for them.
Its the bluetooth protcol used in the BMW it works best with Nokia phones as I think the unit is actually Nokia derived.
Hi there, Occasionally when I log into my e-mail and go to inbox a weird picture, which is a rectangle with a neon blue line through it, appears in the middle of my screen, partially obscuring my inbox. It then disappears as soon as I click the mouse on anything or scroll the screen...It's totally confusing me, and whats more confusing is that it doe'snt appear every time I log in...Anybody know what this is/means/does? Sounds like you need an auto box specialist. the symptoms are those of the torque convertor om its way out or it maybe one of the clutches either way it appears as though it could be expensive to remedy .Is the vehicle fitted with an oil cooler for the box?
