Peugeot 206 hdi 2.0 year 2000 - speedometer stoped working - leeboy

my speedo sudenly stoped working yesterday, just wondering if any one knew if it was a cable or senser in this model,and roughly how much to repair thanks.lee.

Does the odometer /mileometer work ok and the figures increase as you drive?

odometer is digital and working,just the speedo doesnt increase when moving it sort of wiggles about

The mechanical part of the speedo needle drive is broken.These are repairable by specialist companies.Other option is s/hand or new(about £400 for a pod assy).hth

and now today the rev counter has packed up aswell both counters just twitch about and get stuck any more advice would be gratefull cheers.
