Got a fixed penalty notice in another part of the country, took the docs to the local police as requested, they sent them off and now the card part is lost somewhere.
The issuing constabulary say my local constabulary have got it wrong by sending it to the wrong address, the local constabulary say sorry but they they didn't lose it. Now at least I have got a record of both parts being posted by recorded delivery, but now the insurance has just come up for renewal, who are threatening to cancel my policy if i don't give them details of the conviction I told them about from my licence...which I don't have. You need to get the DVLA to reissue the licence as lost. They normally take two weeks.
The policy won't be void or cancelled in the interim if you write to your insurer telling them what happened....

Have a 53 Jazz thats needs major service and been quoted around the £500 mark for it. Now in my younger days I handled almost any job on a car and can more than easily do a major on my Jazz ( mind the comfort of a heated garage with full Audio entertainment, soft furnishing on floor and surgical gloves are a pre-req these days ) and was wondering, as the car is now 7 yr old, is there any valuein a dealer stamped service history at that age ?... Jumped in my 1388cc zetec Fiesta today after it had been stood for 2 weeks and did a 6 mile round trip.It ran lumpy at low speed as if running on three cylinders or missing.No go in it until wound up to 60mph where it seemed smooth at that speed on neutral throttle.Back on my driveway it did tick over but revved up very poorly.It`s done approx 120k with oil&filter changed regularly,and cam belt at 100k....but not a lot else done within the last 40k for service to the engine.Don`t want to fork out for injection cleaner if it`s something I can tinker with for free.Any ideas please? Found no1 plug to be wet with petrol(at least I hope it was petrol¬ antifreeze mix,does use a little,down from max to min mark on expansion tank after 400 miles...do head gaskets go on these after 120,000 miles?),Think no1 plug lead was loose so hope it was fuel on the plug.Did 350 miles in total on sunday and ran well apart from some erratic tickover when stuck in traffic going into/leaving Silverstone and M1 crawl down to London.Fine on run back up A1. Don`t like the look of those "average speed cameras" they are putting up on M1 and A52 Sleaford side of Grantham,I expect they are sprouting up everywhere?Anyone any ideas what could be causing the intermittent tickover problem please?Thanks.
I had the front near side wheel bearing replaced in September 2009
Their is now play in the same wheel. What could it be causing the play ? Read more
This is an old car, maybe the wheel hub is worn.
or maybe just the wheel bearings are not as good as they might be....
