hello

Does anyone know a rough price for an automatic fluid change on this car? it's an old Mitsibushi design of some sort. Just over 70,000 and never been changed aFaiK. Seems to shift oK and is smooth. So for cheap motoring it makes sense to try and keep it going that bit longer... Read more

is the fluid dark and smell of burning ?

if not i'd leave it alone, you may introduce problems by disturbing it.

got a problem on my grand cherokee when selecting 1st or reverse it bangs into gear then as you drive it again it bangs into 2/3/4th gear with a bit of a thump, got an error code displayed of P 0700, and the check engine light is on,took it too Mtb chester jeep dealer for diagnosis, who informed me oil was low although i tended to disagree as i do check the oils frequently so they topped up the oil 2 litres ? they said and cleared the fault code drove it down the road i mean only 1/2 a mile it was still thumping into gear and the same error code re appeared took it straight back, mechanic cleared fault code and reprogrammed gearbox with factory settings, and said it would take the gearbox a while to "learn" / reprogram itself drove it 1/2 mile engine light came on again and the same error code P 0700 mechanic said try changing the speed sensors on the gearbox first before doing anything else, ........ anyone any ideas please Read more

just an update, just checked oil level, its well above the fill mark, i just hate garages !!

i removed both the speed sensors from the gearbox, and did an ohms test on them, front ones open circuit (broken) and the rear ones reading about 5 ohms so i would think this one is ok not kidding you to remove the 2 senors and check them out was 15 minits if that...

i have someone coming to look at my car tomorrow. it's done 80,000 miles. it's got 6 months Mot left, 1 month tax, a possible blown head gasket. i haven't driven it since November, but it was a good car up until then.

the lock mechanism on the two front doors has stuck so they can't be opened (will try & fix that tonight with some wD40).... Read more

And some choose the C1 or 107 (all built in Kolin, Czech Republic) instead of the identical Aygo on price.

over the past few years, i have noticed that when i take my car for a service or Mot, one of the problems that mechanics frequently cite is something related to the cV. either the cV joint or the cV boot etc.

i have found this to be the case with the different cars i have had over the years.... Read more

to check a cV boot, you really need to jack the car up and turn the wheel whilst the steering's at full lock and inspect the boot for splits. You can probably see part of the cV boot while the car's on the ground if you turn the steering to full lock.

i check for cV joint wear by driving forwards and backwards with the steering on full left and right lock and listening for 'clicking' noises. i've a handy car park nearby that's ideal....

My polo comes up with an amber light resembling a steering wheel and an exclamation point next to it plus a beep sound when going on ignition.

both the light and beep go off once engine is running. i checked power steering fluid and it is at the correct level. any other ideas what could be the problem ?

thanks for your help in advance !

hi, changing the tyres didn't make any difference to the vibrating, will have the tracking adjusted to see if this helps, thanks.

when is the hJ iPhone app going to be updated?

before the website upgrade, we were promised that we would get access to the back Room in the app, but since the website upgrade took place, the app just opens the website for everything. Read more

It shows recent posts in a list but as you say it then goes to Safari to look at the threads. It used to do more than this. But I can assure you it's on the list of things being developed.
