"With over 100 registered buyers in the auction hall, plus a further 47 bidding over the internet via BCA?s Live Online service, there was plenty of demand for the mouth-watering selection of 273 convertibles assembled for the sale."
Ken Boothe, Lex?s National Remarketing Manager commented ?BCA?s marketing campaign attracted hundreds of buyers both in the auction hall and online, which ensured strong and competitive bidding throughout the day.?
>100 + 47 = "hundreds of buyers"?

Turns out that Friday 13th was a pretty good day, after all. HJ's long awaited (at least if you are a Berlingo enthusiast) road test of the new Berlingo has arrived.
In fact, this event is soooooooo important, that I thought it was worth starting a new thread, rather than posting yet another post on mlj's thread.
I was somewhat surprised at the comment "So instead of being quite good for a van, it actually is car-like to drive with a fine blend of ride and handling that belie its utilitarian looks."
Personally, I thought that the old Berlingo was pretty car-like to drive with a fine blend of ride and handling.
I'd be very interested in a test which actually drove and compared the old and new Berlingos back to back.
What do other Berlingoistas think?
(by the way, I notice that both the new Berlingo and the 2002 facelift are both the Berlingo II. There is clearly a need to arrive at agreement about numbering. Read more
The new (new) Peugeot Partner Teepee (new (new) Berlingo with a lion on the front) got a good write-up from Steve Cropley in today's Autocar, despite the fairly hefty price hike for the new (new) ones over the old new ones.
I don't recall this one being done before.
I reckon my total is about 325,000. Read more
How many can verify their mileage - this guy appears to be able to - it's a link to Ebay - 1m miles since 1991 and on same engine

Recently the car has been loosing power or cutting out.
If it cuts out turning the key will bring the engine to life again
This happens around town and on Mways too
The computer says its a anit pollution system fault
Any ideas anyone please

As the OP speaks of a diesel, maybe the ignition coil won't be an issue in this case.
My wife, a feminist well to the left of centre, made me watch the Thatcher 'faction' last night. It was surprisingly good, with a performance both winsome and convincing by the main girl.
Naturally she was interested when the rather common-sounding Denis offered her a lift to London in his Jag, later referred to jovially as 'the old tart trap'. But did he really have a red XK150 drophead?
The Denis in the theatre last night was in paint and solvents, and doing well. No mention of his directorship of Burmah-Castrol in various guises, which built in the sixties one of the best low-key modern buildings in London, an elegant green glass cube of middling proportions, similar in size to those around it, in the Marylebone Road more or less opposite the Town Hall. If only there were more like that.
Did Denis become an oil man only after Mrs T became an MP? I'm not suggesting anything dodgy of course. Nothing of that sort would ever be apparent with proper operators, or even necessary really. Read more
If he didn't, he should have to fit with the image most of us have of him!
As best man at my brother's [US] pre-wedding dinner which is when they do things like this over there apparently, following a long, educated, erudite speech from my father [near 25 minutes], I stood up only to say "women prefer silent men; they think they are listening", and abandoned my planned speech.
Hi there, does anyone know how to reprogram my key fob with the car? I've got 2 fobs, one works now and again and the other not at all. It's not the batteries and the signal from the fobs appear to be strong. Thanks. Read more
I've just done a deal to buy a new car at a very good price.
The supplier says that as part of the deal, they will register themselves as the car's keeper and keep the logbook for six months, to ensure that I don't sell it in that time.
They say they need to do this to placate main dealers on behalf of the manufacturer (Fiat).
I'm now having doubts about this.
As I will own the car and am the de facto keeper, are they entitled to be the registered keeper? Is it even legal? Read more
Hi
Very interested in your article......

No easy way to say this; but if you've let the oil get so low that the warning light comes on, then you've ruined your own engine. That's not a level light it's a "Aargh! No oil pressure!" light. The dipstick must be checked at least weekly.
The only way out of this is a new, or good second-hand, engine. Sorry.
Don't continue to drive it; it will suffer catastrophic failure and will then be useless as an exchange unit, incurring even more cost.]
