Hello All,
Anyone got any tips for getting radio codes? (ie not paying Citroen Dealer £25!)
Disconnected the battery whilst welding at the weekend and can't find the code anywhere.
Must be a cheap or even free way of getting the code for your own stereo!???
Thanks

PG is righ. Just make a dead-end.
In my local area that sort of problem is cured by large rocks that would need a JCB to shift, probably cheaper and more durable than bollards.
Is it enough?
He did not pleed guilty until last minute
Had previously tried "other reasons" for being 48mph (65%) above the speed limit
The former head of a police force driving school has been banned from driving after admitting speeding at 118mph on the M9 motorway near Falkirk.
Paul Gee, 48, who recently retired from Durham Constabulary, had claimed he was carrying out a "risk assessment" for his force's driving school at the time.
Falkirk Sheriff Court heard he was in uniform and driving a marked car when caught by a mobile camera.
Gee was banned from driving for three months and fined £500.
The former inspector, from Heddon On The Wall, Northumberland, had originally pleaded not guilty to the speeding offence, committed on 3 November 2006.
But minutes before his trial was due to begin, Gee admitted speeding while on his way to pick up a fellow officer from a police nursing home.

What it missed out was, though he was in uniform and in a marked car, as he wasn't sworn in as a police officer of Scotland, he technically was NOT a police officer! (They have to be sworn in in Scotland using different oath, as Scots law is so different). It's merely a courtesy that they are "accepted" as police. So far as I know, only Northumbria, Cumbria, Dumfries & Galloway and Lothian & Borders routinely have cross-border agreements and have officers sworn in in both countries.
Hi,
My mum is buying a new car and the best deals we've seen are on the internet sites. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience of buying this way? What was it like?
Anybody with any specific experience of UK-Car-Discount?
Any input would be gratefully received as it is a new way of buying for me. There is no-one to eyeball, particularly if things go wrong!
Cheers

Peugeot dealer beat the internet quote for my 407 Coupe. (Not on the first visit mind, dismissed it out of hand. However I rang him back at the end of the month and told him I was DEFINITELY ordering that afternoon. Half an hour later he called back and the deal was done)

Hi, I've been having trouble with my 1996 Mondeo. I've had it for six months with no problems. Then about a month ago it started having trouble starting in the mornings. I presumed this was the cold and thought it may need new plugs. I had planned to do this after Xmas (when I wasn't so skint!!).
In the mean time I was starting it by jumping it off my wifes car (it would always start fine later in the day while it was still warm). Then after Xmas it died all together. No amount of starter motor action will get it going even jumping it! I haven't had a chance to check the plugs yet but I've noticed that no amount of priming the hand primer will make the plunger go firm! I took the output pipe off and pumped it and no diesel was coming out!! Does anyone know if this sounds like it could be the problem? As I don't know much about diesels.
Thanks.

'The fashion for long fringes among women is putting lives at risk on the road.
Eye - skimming celebrity styles mean some female drivers are just a "hair's breadth" from disaster, a survey found.
As many as 67 per cent of women have a hairstyle that can fall in their eyes while they are at the wheel, it said.
In the poll of 1,000 women drivers nearly half said they never tied their hair back before driving.'
Well, we have the clamp down on mobile phone use, eating, smoking at the wheel because it is considered dangerous. We have the issuing of fines to drivers whose side windows are considered to be too dark because they are dangerous Why shouldn't people who drive with their eyesight obscured not be treated like criminals as well ? The length and style of other people's hair is their business and theirs alone. It is of no conceivable interest to sane and mature individuals who are not hairdressers. They may think: that looks good/bad, but unless wishing to deliver a compliment they keep such thoughts to themselves.
This hair faffing reminds me of the late fifties/early sixties when people reacted strongly to hair an inch longer than short-back-and-sides and quite often had the damned cheek to utter illiterate grunts to that effect. Correct response was either none at all or a bunch of fives up the hooter.
My 106 diesel has just developed a fault I'm having problems working out. Its a 1995 xnd 1.5 diesel (tud5) with 135k.
It was driving normally then cut out. It would restart and idle, but as soon as you tried to press the accelerater it would cut out. The RAC managed to get it to rev as long as you were extremely gentle on the throttle, but gave up on being able to diagnose the fault and towed me home. While idling on my drive the engine cut out again and now won't restart. There was no abnormal noises/smoke/ect noticeable other than what I've already mentioned.
I replaced the stop solonoid about 50 miles ago, but I'm not sure if a fault with that could cause these symptoms. More likely, I had not long filled up with a full tank of diesel (I definitely put the right fuel in!) before the problem started.
Would contanimated fuel cause these problems? How would I check it? If so, can I get away with just draining the tank or would I have to empty all the lines too? If the fuel needs changed I'll do it, but I'd rather not throw away a whole tank of fuel just to test if thats the problem!!!!
Any ideas on what to try, or what the problem might be?
Thanks, Paul. Read more
How carefully did you clean the injection pump body and stop solenoid before you unscrewed it?
I'm afraid these are classic symptoms of dirt ingress.

hi all, I'm new to this site and just looking for a bit of help. My Vectra has been playing up lately, this probably has nothing to do with it but it started with a hole in the exhaust after a long time like this (because of lack of funds) it obviously got worse, the back box has totally come away and there is a hole in the centre silencer. The problem is that although it was already loud it seems to have got louder and the noise is coming from the manifold and i can also feel blowing from that area, making me think it was the manifold gasket. The ticking sound seemed to start when the blowing got louder but it does sound tappity. i was wondering if the manifold gasket being pink fluffy diced would that make the ticking noise.
any help much appreciated
thanx Read more
not uncommon to break a manifold bolt on this engine (the one nearest the cambelt) there is a revised gasket and stronger studs, this noise ussualy can be heard when you first start car untill the manifold exspands and partially seals itself
Hi all,
I have a problem with the driver side electric window. It goes down an inch or two by itself for no reason. It happens intermittently for a while then is usually ok for the rest of the journey. Any ideas? Read more
had same problem on a 306, after spending loads on variuos things (switches etc) went to local auto electrician cost me a tenner for him to wrap some insulation tape around the wires. It was simply that the wire after opening and closing the door was catching on either the pillar or door frame i cant remember. This was causing the window to open slightly. Have had same thing on an escort after this and wrapped all the wires coming into the door in new tape and refitted problem was solved.
MJM,
Thanks for that, I'll try some other dealers.
