I hope no-one on here is waiting for any of these cars......

In case anyone likes useless information - Happisburgh is pronounced Haysborough, or it is at the moment. Erosion is such that much of it may be under the sea in 20 years.
|
Interesting that Avant - "Coast" the other night meandered alon that Eastern bit of Coast - fascinating programme as usual. I assume that this village has links with Northern Germany or Flanders/Holland..?
|
Time to set up ANPR camera`s on the roads leading to the East coast....
(just in case any bits of trim float ashore)
Sad but true, people will be heading there now, to sniff along the shore line :)

Mmm ..... don't think I'll bother - it's 8 miles off-shore and the weather's forecast to be lousy. Anyway, what would I want with a washed-up Nissan 4x4? ;-).

They said it was timber on the news, not cars?

They said it was timber on the news not cars?
There is two. A timber ship down in devon is rolling over, and the car one off norfolk is stuck.
|
What ? the ship was timber ?

Gopher wood I believe! ;-)

>>There is two. >>
To be utterly pedantic, "there are two"..:-)
The ship I saw on BBC News 24 listing at 45 degrees was said to be carrying timber; wasn't aware that there was a second ship in trouble.
Perhaps if you can nab a car you can use it to carry some timber home...:-)
|
Or build a raft and float your car off.....anybody watch Timewatch (The Wreckers) on Sat night ?
|
|
>>There is two. >> To be utterly pedantic "there are two"..:-)
You are wrong Stuartli. There is only 1 ship.
the wooded one just sinked.
|
How come it sank if it was full of wood?
|
PoloGirl
It sinktid becuz it filldid with watter, the wood floatidid out and the metul bit were two eavy to stay afloatidid hon its own.
I hope that makes it clearerer!
|
Perfectly clear :)
So there were never any cars involved then?
|
AFAIAA two different ships, one carrying cars which seems to have been sorted and one carrying timber which has not.
|
yup the norfolk car one is back on its way to zebrugge with a new captain who can read charts.
the devon wood one is on its way to davey jones locker.

Dafties ...... why didn't they strap the wood to the outside, then it would have been unsinkable ;-)

Strangely the sands on which the unfortunate vessel is stranded are known as the Haisboro' sands although the village is spelt as you say.
