I have Bluemedia BM6300 from Evesham but I am disappointed with its performance, because it often gives me absurd routes.
I have complained to Evesham about it but they say there is nothong they can do about it at the moment !!!! (?????)
Does anyone know of any other software that will go in it ?
The hardware is a unit used by three or four other 'manufacturers' including Medion and Navman so I know other software will go in it, I just need to know which, if any is better than the software supplied by Evesham.

My DIY/Building car, a 1996 SEAT Toledo TDI SXE bought off of eBay started rattling from the cat. One tyre and exhaust place wanted £230 and the part alone from a parts supplier was £150. Another tyre and exhaust outlet just fitted me an own brand new one for £85 with 2year guarentee! Don't think you can get cheaper than that!
Only problem is that the original one had a piece broken up inside and was rattling, when I inspected the innards it looked of good quality and a mesh/honeycomb type construction. The new one looked like it had straw inside and the welding left a lot to be desired. However, the rattling has stopped.

This is important information for all road users.
Recently my son was involved in an accident on the M6. He was side-swiped by a left-hand drive HGV as he was overtaking it at 70mph. His car was spun into the central barrier, bounced back into the left-hand barrier and then back into the middle lane. Amazingly no-one hit him. The lorry driver admitted fault saying he didn't see my son. My son was badly shaken and has suffered whiplash and severe pain since. I have written to Steven Ladyman (minister of transport) and had no reply. The AA quoted lots of reasons why some LHD HGVs are allowed to drive on UK roads without wide-angle mirrors which cut out blind spots. I have also e-mailed Honest John who is keeping an eye on the situation. PLEASE OVERTAKE THESE LORRIES WITH CARE. In other words, before you overtake look to see if the HGV is likely to change lanes for any reason, i.e., approaching intersection, slow moving vehicle, etc. If it is safe to do so I would advise moving from the middle lane to the outside lane whilst overtaking. This could be your life and others you are saving. I stress ONLY MAKE THESE MANOEUVRES IF THE OVERTAKING LANE IS CLEAR. Obviously if the road is busy (as was the case in my son's accident) you have no option but to overtake. I am not trying to scare people but just to bring this hazzard to your attention. Safe driving everyone. Paul.

They'd have to pay the massive UK excise duty then.
Drop in the ocean surely?
Looking at the West Oxford auction site the police vehicles still have there police markings.I wondered if these markings were painted or stuck on and how easy they were to remove. I once owned a van that had been in a breweries livery. The stuck on signs had been taken off but the name could still be read because the surrounding paint had faded. It didn't matter on a van but would not look good on a car. Read more
Prime example of this yesterday in Lancaster... Coming round the one way system, after a mooch around the shops, Police car on the curb, swithces on the blue lights and must have red lined it in 1st gear to pull off, bumped down the curb (catching the front skirt on the road), massive cloud of Black smoke, completely stupid driving as Red traffic lights 100yards in front, which he was at very least going to have to slow down for! Police cars must get an absolute thrashing!
I would imagine some of the beat cars up in the lakes might make a good buy though.....
I apologise if asked before.
Y Focus Zetec SE, K45. Smooth box, but when changing gears from 1st to 3rd, engine has started revving higher (no squealing). When going back, no problem. When idle, I depress clutch but no problem.
Is it possible clutch problem or something else??
Thanks Read more
To get back on topic I think what Robert means is the revs are flaring up when changing up even though he's released the accelerator.
My advice would be to check the operation of the switch above the clutch pedal to make sure its working and correctly aligned.

Hi,
Having a few problems with my micra recently. When i drive off when the engine is cold it runs ok and doesnt chug/jerk. I can drive for more than an hour before the problems start. But as soon as i stop for more than a few minutes and leave the engine running (or turn the engine off for that matter), and then drive away, the car starts chugging/jerking quite bad. Ive recently had it serviced and tuned but that hasnt cured it. Ive been told it could be the throttle body housing. Does anyone know if this could be the problem?? Different people ive taken it to are telling me differnt things, ive been told it could be the timing chain, as well as a something else i cant remember at the moment.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks Read more
Does indeed sound like it could be the throttle body - these people might be able to clarify: www.bba-reman.com/catalogue/DetailedProduct.aspx?D...5 (ask them about test-hiring one to eliminate the throttle body as the cause) Possible DIY fix here: www.micra.com.au/information/nissan-micra-articles...p Good luck, let us know how you get on.
Second link gave me a 404 error.

Good afternoon,
I have a Vectra 1999 turbo diesel 2L. I love this car, but have had ongoing issues since I bought it, though nothing to stop me using it.
Problem 1:
Fuel problem? Intermittent problem, if the car is a little low on fuel (below the 10 lire mark), if I do not start the car for over 7 or 8 hours then, then I turn the key, the car starts but will not rev high, then eventually dies after about 5 seconds. The car then will not start. You can turn the car over until the battery dies. I then have to get someone to jump start me which normally takes about a minute or 2 of turning over until the engine finally starts to bite and eventually starts.
This problem seems to be worse if I park with the nose of the car facing UP-HILL. This is why I wonder if it is a fuel problem. i.e. it being forced back into the tank over the time period, i.e. trickles back. Is there supposed to be something that stops this happening that might be broken, a valve etc?
The symptoms exhibit them selves as if the engine is being flooded like with a petrol car, but it definitely not that. It almost looks like an immobilizer is kicking in after a few seconds, but the fact that it happens more when facing up hill, or with low fuel it is worse kind of negates that possibility.
Problem 2:
Last week, the engine light started to come on when I come to a stop at traffic lights, when I pull away, the light goes off? maybe fuel again? It only happens once the car has heated up. I thought it might be related to the problem 1. The car does feel a little sluggish when pulling away from the lights when the engine light is on.
I have noticed that when I start the Vectra, there is a RELAY in the passenger side foot well (as far as I can hear the location) that continually clicks for about 30 seconds after I start the car. I first thought it might be fuel cut-off? but it does not seem to make a difference to the cars working order
Sorry for the long description, but I thought if we get answers, the more keywords might help someone else find this solution.
I thank anyone who might be able to help
One person said I should change the fuel filter, what do you think?
Cheers
Dan

well, changed the pipes at the weekend, parked the car up hill (steep) for a real test, and the car failed... doh!!!!! however, the battery died after 3 turns so it was not a fair test. My local NEwry car parts shop has one in so i will get that on the way home tonight and see how we get on. The engine light is still coming on at idle when warm... might be time for another thread if the batter does not help.. i will check all other consumables out too.

I do not have a vauxhall. But my brother and a neighbour of mine always say they get excellent customer service and servicing form a garage called Lindsays (address below). This is only a small dealer but has been going for years.

Today is 9th March - 14 years since I passed my driving test. Coincidentally, I got my insurance renewal yesterday, and realised that it is now 10 years since I had my first car. Adding up the mileage comes to 170,000 miles over the 10 years, and 6 cars (3 BXs, a 306 (short lived) and 2 Xantias) - and I have 10 years NCD now (grabs hard the desk to avoid bending the car on the way home and spoiling it!).
No real point to this post, but doesn't time fly when you're having to work for a living!

Hah - not so long ago, or so it seems, my eldest nephew was just learning to walk and talk, but (snaps fingers) is now a year away from leaving school - where'd the time go?! Back on motoring, I've had my Leon over four years, but still think of it as the "new" car. I regularly lose track of how long ago things happened and I'm only 34!
I remember thinking "not a rehearsal" quite a while back. I was running my own business from home back then, but not enjoying it even though I was doing alright. I realised I had spent nearly three years feeling mostly bored and dissatisfied, which then felt like three years wasted. Decided that it wasn't for me, started doing some voluntary work, changed careers and have never looked back. Ok, I'd probably have a bit more dosh in the bank but I'm enjoying life and there's no pockets in a shroud!

Vroom, vroom - mmm, doughnuts ...
My 43K 2001/51 Accord makes a 'straining' noise from the rear of the car in the area of the fuel pump when cold. The noise dissappears when warm. Is this worn bearings and has anyone else had this problem? Read more
Could be faulty pump, though you should hear it presurise every time ignition is turned on but not loud, only in background

Yes you can!! Worst case, once it has a signal it can triangulate, the GPS system will locate you within 100 m of your actual location. With 7 or more locked, then it's more likely to be better than 10 m. There's no way you can tell me that this will affect the route planned.
