Following on from the "Lady" with the makup saga

In my home town I followed this ford fiesta through the town and turned left to climb up a really steep hill that is on a main road.

Halfway up the Fiesta dropped to 10mph, and then stopped in the middle of the road going up this steep embankment forcing me and all the cars following me to stop.

This Lady in the fiesta turned left, and as she did so, I could see all these bits of papers fall from into the car......turned out it looks like she was READING while driving up through the town.

If she was map reading then her passenger could have done that for her.

As I followed her round to the left, she then just stopped again, no indication to say she was pulling into the left.

This kind of thing infuriates me, as does every morning around the ring road around Darlington, People think they can overtake on roundabouts by going down the right hand side lane, and then shooting across the roundabout, pulling in front of me.. This happens every single morning, and once I have had the satisfaction of seeing someone actually get caught by the police doing that but..
I am not claiming to be a good driver myself far from it just annoys me that I try hard to be a good driver and there are people who just blatently don't give a damn

What do BR?s think of this. Or am I just overreacting???

Darlinton Ring road is a nightmare on a morning, at the big roundabout where you turn right to Teeside Airport...always jammed with traffic all the way round to the football club sometimes (anyone been down it will know what I mean) ....but of course it doesnt effect the councilers so they wont do owt about it.....AND its chevorons all the way down the ring road... the amount of BMW's that overtake is unbleivable

3rd time this week. Some SQL problem with too many connections and even now I'm getting gibberish at the bottom of my screen.

I assume everyone else is getting the same problem?

Can anyone direct me to what the recommended type and grade of oil should be used in a 2002 V70 2.4 D5. I ask this as the owner of a car I am considereing bying has insisted that Castrol Magnetic was used ( He Supplied ) at every service since it was new. Thanks Peter Read more

Here is another tip,the service interval on a 2002 is 12000 mls.
At this they will change the pollen filter on the A.C.
The service interval on a 2006 is 18000 mls.
Same pollen filter @ 35 + vat.
Only let them change the pollen filter every 2nd service.
Also the brake fluid is recommended to be changed at 2yrs.
This is incase condensation has allowed water to form.
This is bad for 2 reasons, your abs, and, water will boil and steam can be compressed, not good in a brake system.
However a tool can be purchased for checking the brake fluid for under 10 pounds.
A brake fluid change is 70.
I dont condone skimping on the brake system, but ask a mechanic what he would do and make your own mind up.
Also on full lock you may here a knocking, its only the plastic bump stops needing grease, there white plastic on the steering arm.

When going for a car wash at a filling station: Is it respectful to park your car on the forecourt before you go in to pay at the kiosk?
Or park your car in the queue then pay at the kiosk & annoy the bloke who payed in front of you who ends up queueing behind you?

I think not Dave - if it does I have been breaking the law for the past year because we have had a hosepipe ban in place for over a year in our area of West Sussex.I have both pressure washer and hosepipe which have been unused over that time but I still use a watering can - it just takes me a lot longer than using a hose.

I make sure that any water left ( not the soapy stuff) that has been used in washing or rinsing the car is used in the garden.

When I consider the actual value of all the trees plants and shrubs in my garden , I feel that I should be suing the water company for failing to provide me with the water that I am paying them a handsome sum to provide.

Do not be fooled by this drought rubbish that they are putting about The drain on potable water supplies is increasing all the time because we have built too many houses in the south east, the water companies have shamefully neglected the upkeep of their pipelines and expect the public milchcow to provide for them whilst losing a third of the water in leaks.

Just off to bed with my calming down pill and some Ovaltine .....
