For at least 2 years I have been enjoying this Site, and now realise it has become an important part of my life's entertainment (as well as being highly informative).
In fact, I now watch far less TV and often prefer my PC screen. Wonder how many other BRs have seen their habits change? And which (printable) ones?
Come on - this could be another candidate for the Ton-Up Thread Club! Read more
Hi my Omega has a bizzare problem with the air vent heating system.
It intermittently does not get hot which can be very irritaing when cold in the morning. Also sometimes it does get hot but when u put put blowers on becomes cool fairly quickly.
The fan itself works ok on all speeds just the temp that's a problem.
It seems to be okish if temp set to hot b4 start up rather than turning it up later once started but this may be just be co-incidence.
The whole affair is baffling me but with the cold weather drawing in I want it sorted!
Any advice is most welcome. Read more
If its warm for a bit and cools down, it sounds as though the water is flowing too slowly into the matrix? and the heat built up is cooling down once the blowers are on.
the controls with dials signifies vacuum operated, but I don't know where the pipes are under the bonnet.
Sat for 40 mins northbound today, lots of cones and contraflow a pretty young lady in a Porsce but no road workers.

I drive this stretch of road often. A few years ago, on a Bank Holiday Saturday, the traffic heading South was particularly bad. I arrived at the problem - cones - just in time to see a police car driving very slowly down the inside lane with his colleague walking in front kicking cones over the side of the motorway into the ditch at the bottom of the bank. He looked stressed but he was kicking so hard the cones were taking off like a goal kick. I think it was helping. He had done about a quarter of a mile and had about another quarter mile to go. I smiled all the way to Taunton.
Had a very pleasant surprise when I rang up my insurer (Direct Line) for a quote to transfer my insurance from my 10 year old Proton MPi saloon (insured fully comp with legal pretection) only to find that there would be no additional charge to transfer it on to a brand new Nissan Almera 1.5 Flare I am thinking of buying, as they are both the same group, There about 8 months remaining on the existing policy What a surprise! Think I will be staying with Direct Line then
Also Full retail price on the Almera is £12100 OTR and ive managed to secure a quote for £9200 OTR including metallic paint, from www.motorprovider.co.uk Guess they will be getting my business as well, seem to be a good bunch to deal with. Read more
Make sure the steering wheel is on crooked before letting them take it off and refit it in a different spline position, if the problem or maladjustment lies elsewhere, moving the steering wheel is worst practice botch job.
Anyone else getting these on post preview?

Hi,
I have just brought a carbon fibre sports grille for my phase 1 peugeot 306.
Does anyone know if you can buy the headlamp trim strips in carbon fibre to match the sports grille.

Has anyone suggestions about the following please?
VW Gamma radio in Passat tdi been working perfectly. Today it works OK with engine off but as soon as ignition is switched on the signal on Radio 2, 3 and 4 practically disappears and the radio starts to seek. I've checked the frequencies and retuned but no improvement.

Is there a site that you could recommend to do the above.
My Sharan won't start and I think it maybe a filter blockage. Its a disel BTW.

Thanks
I wasn't sure what the replacement entailed.
After getting one from Halfords it was obvious and very easy to do.
Relase the clamp holding the filter, then a hose clip for each of two small pipes and an "r" clip holding a further pipe acrosss the top.
Easy job, filled the filter with veggie oil, so that there wasn't too much air to bleed.
Seems to be OK now. Hope that was the problem and not just an intermittant fault!
Cheers
Suppose I purchased a racing car that was road legal. Without facing a motoring ban where could you race such a thing, or even just take it on a track and race yourself. Is there such places where you can go to do this? Read more

ISTR that you could buy one of the caterham/westfield or one of those with a free one years racing included for less than the retail cost of the car.
Vansboy, I can't say I ever noticed it, but will keep my eyes peeled in future for anything similar.
We only just have a TV at home, as it's on its last legs, and to watch it you need the patience of a saint to bear with the scrolling and toilet noises which emerge from time to time. Can't say I'd really miss it though, as long as I still have the BR. (creep aren't I?!)
