Where to race

Where to race - winston
Suppose I purchased a racing car that was road legal. Without facing a motoring ban where could you race such a thing, or even just take it on a track and race yourself. Is there such places where you can go to do this?

Most racing circuits have track days where you can "Run what you brung".
There are obviously safety considerations that they will stipulate and it would be wise to check your insurance cover for public road and circuit use. All normal policies prohibit use for motorsport in any way, shape or form.

ISTR that you could buy one of the caterham/westfield or one of those with a free one years racing included for less than the retail cost of the car.
