Hello,
Would A Toyota Verso be a good MPV for covering 30k+ miles, annually as a taxi vehicle? Also, if I were to get a ULEZ compliant verso diesel. Could the ULEZ compliancy become void if London decides to change the vehicle requirements?... Read more
True, electrics/ hybrids are an option. Though they're very much on the costly side of things.
I've just viewed what seems a very nice used 2010 Suzuki Swift with a view to buying. I noticed just a bit of white smoke from its exhaust on occasion, when revved quite hard. See this video:

Is this anything to be concerned about? Probably nothing... but as I know little about cars I thought i'd best check. This video was taken when car was fully warmed up btw. Read more
This video was taken after I had taken the car for a test drive btw.
depends how long the drive was, but as mentioned seems ok to me
Hello.
We have misplaced the spare keyless entry key and feel a bit vulnerable should anything go wrong with the master.... Read more

We bought a Vauxhall Meriva from Cazoo about a month ago and it started making this strange whooping or spinning noise coming from the back right hand side of the car. It happens randomly and will last anywhere from 2 to about 20 seconds over and over again. It's like a spinning woop woop sound.
It's still under warranty however the mechanics at Cazoo have no idea what was causing it which is very worrying. They've ruled out wheel barring. I've attached the best recording i've been able to get of it
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Our son's Kia Cee'd was written off in a no-fault accident back in July this year. He paid £13,300 for it back at the end of 2017. He's now received the remaining payment for the car from the insurance company. The total payout was £12,700........ he's not replacing it thanks to a new job, so it won't cost him the corresponding amount to find another similar car Read more
Perhaps the days of Bangernomics are gone forever ?
Just seen the above car on my afternoon walk around the town. Not immaculate but certainly tidy on the panels. It was a G reg so 1989/90 and I thought it looked amazingly fresh in design for such as old car. I think they came out in 1987. I had a look on the 'how many left' website. Only one registered but seven SORNed. So I have just seen the only registered one in the country. Not sure what the odds on that are but maybe I will start doing the Lottery again... Read more
I had the 86-BHP AX GT, 1989 model from new, kept it for four years. Great little car, with lovely handling. They replaced my carb version with the slightly more powerful injected one, although the added weight made the performance no better.
Very light, with a plastic tailgate, and didn't exactly feel solid....
Wondering if anybody has experience on this issue, as information regarding it seems to be a bit hard to find.
Mid journey, whilst parked at some lights, my Suzuki lost it's 1st and 2nd gears. It's like there is nothing there, you can push the gearstick over to the left and into where the gear should be with no resistance, and it just slides right on back to the middle. Other other gears, and reverse, all engage and work with no problem.... Read more
Yes, sounds as if one of the linkages has come adrift. Should be an easy fix, but getting at it may be tricky. If there is space between the engine and the bulkhead you should be able to find something. If not, the car may need to be hoisted.
Can anyone give me some advice on a low level warning light on a
The light came on around a week ago while I was driving so I pulled over checked the oil level ( which seemed fine) and turned on the engine and it disappeared , it came on again today while driving and the same thing by turning the engine off and waiting it went out again. The dipstick reads around 2mm from the bottom but in the hatch section.
I originally thought the light was a low oil lever warning but reading the manual it says it is actually Low Oil Pressure which is more serious.
I was advised that i should not be driving it as it can cause major damage to the engine , I am looking to book it in to a garage next thursday but have to do a 100 mile run on Monday but not too sure if that's sensible. Read more
I checked the light previously with a cold engine and then after running then leaving for 25 minutes and both times showed just over the min point.
Sounds more like oil surge to me. You said previously it happened at roundabouts and corners. Don't you know anyone with a simple obd diagnostic, it may be able to tell you the oil pressure....

Update
The people claimed they were deprived of food, toilets etc etc were eventually taken away by Police. It appears they have been charged with various offences such as criminal damage e.g. they superglued car doors shut on brand new cars.
When the A55 was dualled across Anglesey, a few drivers (who clearly hadn't been to the mainland), had never come across slip roads before. Instead of feeding into the traffic, they approached the main road at 90 degrees to the oncoming traffic. It didn't take long for them to adjust, but there were a few accidents.
