Basically the Chief Constables that now run our police are basically useless understaffed and ill equipped the poor bobby on the road has to work under extreme pressures forces and the local law enforcers ie. Magistrates and judges would rather give a criminal a suspended sentence rather than punish them no wonder the working man has no confidence in the POLICE and the judiciary.
Years ago we had the yes people , then we went on to the yes, yes , yes people now we are in the realms of the YES YES YES YES people none of the hierarchy have the B---s to do anything. Read more

Just a general question to ask.

I was listening in to a debate on Doctors working hours, amongst things that were mentioned were the number of hours and the pay rates for doing extra hours above the contracted working hours.... Read more

I'm sorry, I'm not a very frequent forum user, did I go wrong somewhere?

No you didn't and you are very welcome to the forum. The problem that Andy was alluding to is that some people join and then soon after start posting spam. This has made us all suspicious but nothing you posted has been in any way objectionable.

Hello,

I'm planning to sell my 2014 Suzuki S-Cross and would appreciate some advice concerning the following dilemma. The car has a dent on the passenger back door (around 35x30cm). I'm having some insurance work done on the body next week and have received a quote of £450 + VAT to repair the dent at the same time. What I'm wondering is whether it makes more sense to pay the amount (which I think is reasonable compared to some other quotes I'd received in the past for repairing said dent) so as to find a buyer more easily or whether it is best to leave the dent as it is and settle for a lower asking price. I'm not trading in or buying a new model and ideally I would prefer to sell privately but I may have to use one of the online services (motorway, carwow, or similar) due to need for a quick sale. What would people on the forum advise? Thanks in advance! Read more

Hello and thanks for your suggestion. I've looked on ebay and on a couple of online breaker sites but unfortunately I haven't been able to find the right door.

This is an off the top of my head answer, but they want to know your outgoings and will certainly ask what debt you have. They will already know what credit cards and loans you have/had from the credit check.

I'm assuming you are planning to apply for a mortgage. Read more

I wonder if the OP was more worried about the lender making moral judgements about his purchases rather than the amounts owed!!!

Hi all. Watching the above show, does anyone know why occasionally, Derek sometimes taps his gavel against the paper folder he is holding whilst looking at his staff to the left?

To me it looks like a coded signal, but what does it indicate?... Read more

The previous Crossback car was ok on the outside but not nice on the inside.

What I can never understand is why the original car (before DS was a 'Thing' again) was changed then dropped after the original from the early 2010s sold brilliantly as a decent rivial to the Mini and a worthy, reasonably priced successor to the Citroen Saxo for the 'Yoof' (very moddable) market. Would appreciate some advice the Mrs new car a Toyota Yaris arrived at the dealership a few days past. Due to time limitations we only inspected it today. There is a small raised paint imperfection underneath the surface and it is visibly raised. There is also a scratch that has removed paint on the front bumper. Not had a formal response on this as it was noticed on a Sunday when all 'senior' dealer staff are not present. The car is not registered as yet but as you would imagine we are not happy about having a paint repair on a car that is brand new. Any advice from members with this unfortunate conundrum? Only paid a deposit so far and ready to pay the balance when the car is satisfactory. Read more

Dealer claims they have removed the damage to the paint with 'machine machine' find it hard to believe that a raised dot in the paint can be removed with a machine polish. Will inspect the vehicle tomorrow. Think an independent paint inspection seems reasonable to request at this stage

Carl, despite what others have said on a new car you should expect the paint to be very close to perfect, you may well see some orange peel under the clear coat but "raised" lumps and scratches are simply not acceptable imho....

Hi all

My old man is thinking of ridding his T-Roc in favour of a Honda Jazz (he retires this year).
He's asked if I want to buy it for £27K and pay in 3 instalments. I have been saving so it is doable though I had planned to go for a high reliability hybrid such as a RAV4 for my next car.

I currently have a Golf GT Edition. It runs great and other than an expensive clutch change 1 month after purchase, it's never skipped a beat. I expect to get £9-10K + for the Golf.

My work commute is 12 miles each way. Motorway miles twice per month.

Golf GTE 2.0 TDI. 50,000 miles. 2016.

T-Roc 1.5 TSI DSG. 4,000 miles. 2021 (pre-facelift). Sunroof etc. ... Read more
