with mine . i thought it was both back brakes, both got hot but the the offside got really hot and stuck. this was an intermittent fault didn't happen every day didn't happen when i drove to make it happen.. the brake fluid might come out like toothpaste.

if when it sticks you crack the nipple and it frees brake,. then change flexi pipe

The engine control system /starter and fuses/relays are all in the engine bay fuse box . Access is very difficult. On top of which , you will need to get wiring through the bulkhead . Another difficult mission . The car already has an immobiliser, not sure why you need another. What device are you intending to fit ?

I had the 2 front tyres changes at the start of April. I thought as the tyres were new and a different make to the ones I usually buy that the noise they made was just road noise. Fast forward a few weeks and the noise is getting worse! I thought that the front left looked low on pressure. As I was filling it up I noticed that only 4 of the 5 bolts were present! I contacted National Tyres who fitted them and was asked to bring it back in. Bolt added and they said the wheel bearings are worn but it’s the front right that’s gone. Complaint made and they claim that 5 bolts were fitted and the noise is from the front right not front left that I claim was missing a bolt. They don’t concede any coincidence and have offered me a second opinion at another National Tyres centre.

2 Questions, Could the missing bolt have caused damage to the bearings? And where do I stand with them fixing it??

Missing bolt is not going to cause any problem with the wheel bearing . National tyres have replaced the bolt . If the wheel bearing is noisy , either leave it until it gets worse , or get it fixed.

I used to cycle quite a lot, not competitive or anything, and I've never had a drop bar road bike. I did have a mountain bike, but the type of cycling opportunities round my neck of the wood were far more road biased and so I changed it for a fairly light hybrid with 700c wheels.

Indeed - similar to my experiences out and about. It's also why I try and steer clear of the more well-used roads and busier periods generally. Fortunately as a leisure cyclist, that isn't a problem, as it means I see more of the countryside.

The downside is that I have to be careful to avoid potholes, flooded areas (which can hide potholes but at first glance don't look deep), farm vehicles & animals / kamikaze wildlife and the occasional local driving like a bat out of you know where because they know the road well but think it'll be empty....

I'm home again, and it was an interesting little trip to Amsterdam (to see the Floriade in nearby Almere was the reason for the trip).

With heavy rain / thunderstorms for much of the time in France and Belgium and a 100kph speed limit in Holland I achieved 62mpg over the 612 miles driven, brim to brim. Journey time took a hit and I didn't need to purchase any of fuel whilst overseas. (well as happy as could be when paying £1.67 a litre). This is the 1 litre 3 cylinder VW engine in a SEAT Toledo with 70k miles on the clock. ...

Here in sunny Basingstoke we have cycle lanes which must be mined as no cyclists go near them. Dual carriageways are hatched out, road humps appear all over, roundabouts are badly marked to such an extent many drivers will do a circuitous route to avoid. There are many others around too. Read more
