Hi all. Help needed please. Boxer 2017 2.0ltr. Having an issue with temp sensor shooting up to full scale, only for about a second which then stops the engine, happens mostly when cold but also when hot, sometimes comes up with a message radiator temperature high and sometimes stop safely. Took to main dealer for diagnostic check, told pipe come off throttle doser unit, quoted £250 to replace, told when this replaced the temp sensor issue will also be resolved. Replaced pipe myself still same issue. Have replaced complete thermostat housing including sensor, still the same. Earth lead from engine to chassis didn't look good, also replaced, still the same . Only fault present on diagnostic is PO530, air con sensor. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as the van is getting slowly undriveable, I am halfway through conversion to camper. Read more
Google "planet owners map" and get a proper diagnostic with Diagbox. Many faults don't appear on generic "scan anything" code readers

These are all good ideas and in use on some other forums. Another option is the use of a Captcha on registering. These will of course take time to code and test and I have no idea where this might fit in the IT Team's list of priorities. In the meantime ORB and I will try and keep the forums as spam-free as we can.

This is not surprising. Car usage has fallen dramatically during lockdown and as a result the number of claims has also fallen.
I am retired and considering buying an electric car. They have several advantage for me. No catalytic converter to nick as is a common occurrence round my way. No problem if the car isn't used for a month at a time. I'd be happy with a range of 250 or so miles but was reflecting on my trip this weekend from Kingston, W London, to Romford, East london.
On the way back, at night, cold, wet, I'd have had headlamps on, air con + heating, radio, phone charging, and stop and start driving for 2.5 hours - covering just 22 miles.I really wonder how long the battery would last stop and go with all the accessories on.... Read more

Pity some of your compassion has not rubbed off on those two. A lesson well learned. Sometimes you just have to accept that you have done all you can and accept the situation when there is no other recourse. Not even God can change the past so you just have to live with this one. Well done for trying. At least the apprentice gained some valuable tools, that is a real positive.

We had the battery disconnected for a few months while away, when we reconnected the radio asked for code. There were some wrong attempts, but it didn’t get as far as saying ‘locked’.
We now have the code but the radio doesn’t ask for it, I guess it might be permenanyly locked out but it doesn’t say ‘locked’, you can still use the screen, navigate, but radio/cd doesn’t function.
Is there anything we can try to do, to get it to ask for code again?
I can get in to ask for a diagnostic code (hold menu and power), but the code we have doesn’t do anything)
Also, if we do get an opportunity, is the number entry the same as other radios (eg. Don’t type 1143, but press 1 once, 2 once, 3 four times and 4 three times)

If the serial number you have is correct, then the code is right for that radio . Although this unit appears to be one whole unit , it’s actually made up of 2 parts . The radio section and the climate part below . I would disconnect the battery for 10 mins and re- try to enter the code .
