March 2021
There was a thread a while ago about windscreen washer fluid. Some strident views about this brand versus that brand were expressed. I’ve always used Halfords own, Morrisons own, Tescos own, whatever brand I happen to see when I need a new bottle and in over 50 years’ motoring never given it a second thought - until now.
My rear washer stopped squirting a week or so ago. I tried probing the nozzles (there are two) with a needle but to no avail so I booked the car into my Audi dealer. I have an extended warranty, so before you all experience a sharp intake of breath, in theory my costs would be limited to the excess.... Read more
This sounds like an April Fool story, but it's only the 10th of March! Read more
Don't forget the Boris Bus, another White Elephant, that he is now keen to cover the county with. Rear entrance that allowed fair dodgers, hybrids that had duff batteries, duff air con that left travellers cooking as they had no opening windows, great for spreading covid, and no one outside of London wanted to buy them. He's got an excellent reputation for wasting cash though.

I’ve owned this car for about a year and a half now and really enjoy it.
It’s currently due an MOT and needs 3 tyres replaced (I’m thinking as it needs 3 it might be better to replace all 4 at the same time?).... Read more
Great information. Thanks. I’ve been coming across the same sizes when I search through the reg on the tyre sites although you can manually type the sizes.
I don’t know if the rims now are the same as when rolled off the line, although they may be?
Searching online the rims currently on it are the 18” BMW Star Spoke 189.
The OEM is 6768859
I’ve tried mailing BMW customer service but still waiting to hear back!
Just a bit worried if I follow the recommended 35 on front & 40 on back instead of like for like of what’s currently on there 40 back/ 45 front that I’ll feel the bumps and holes much more and the visual look against the arch mayy look too small. I like the look of the wheel filling the arch!
I suppose so as long as going against all the tyre site recommendations online wouldn’t cause an undue problem to the tyres it would be ok? After all they may be advising on different factory rims.
My mates A4 isn’t all wheel but it is an S-line so maybe that’s the reason they’re the same front and back.
A quick google suggests that Hyundai and Toyota are family controlled.

Sounds too good to be true. However if it works as described, it has massive potential.
“ Synthetic fuels are made by extracting hydrogen via renewable energy, and capturing it liquid form with carbon dioxide. Compared to pump fuel, eFuels emit fewer particulates and nitrogen oxide as well.”

Out of curiosity, John, does the manual for your Audi A8 say anything about ethanol in fuels?...
Any ideas...?
Car drives fine however when clutch is disengaged (pedal down) there is a loud rotational knocking/rattling which seems to come from the entire powertrain. Does this in neutral or with any gear engaged. Car stationary or moving. On releasing the pedal it goes quiet. Clutch function is normal.... Read more
its more likely the release bearing is breaking up and knocking on the pressure plate fingers, problem will be the amount of damage occurring to the pressure plate will destroy the fingers and will not allow you to change gear at all ...
Hi.
I recently got a section 59 letter from the police stating I have been riding in a careless or inconsiderate manner. I've never been stopped by the police before but this letter threatens to seize my vehicle. I'm not aware of any occasions where I have been careless or inconsiderate. Is there any way I can get this removed as I feel its unfair to issue me with this without anyone stopping me? Also I'm worried my bike may have been cloned. Please help Read more
Nowadays a benefit might be to direct the headlights in the direction you will be turning.

I used meths once but found the smell a disadvantage. I've heard the Russians use vodka!
