The other week I had a text from my KIA with a ‘product improvement notice’ for my 2010 Ceed. After all this time I was curious as to what could possibly be ‘improved’ after nearly 10 years!

Non bio washing tablet or liquid . Leave it in for a couple of days to circulate. Then flush with clean water , and refill with correct antifreeze.
Hello everyone,
What's a sane level of coverage to have for each car? I do not know what are good amounts to be insured for in the following categories:... Read more
My point here is if your are in confusion state of mind where we don't have any prior information, getting a advice from knowledge person is not a bad idea.
Anyway thanks for your reply Alan1302
More curious than anything, this has really got me scratching my head... Wondering if anyone can explain this mystery to me?
10 months ago, I accidentally left a pump (for bike tyres) plugged into the 12v socket overnight. The next morning, battery flat, I took advantage of my free breakdown cover and called assistance to jump start. Ran it for 30 minutes, switched engine off. The next day, battery flat once more. Enrolled the assistance of a neighbour to give it a jump start. Off I go to work. I realise my stereo no longer works (won’t switch on, clock / temp / date still on dash, but besides that not responding, nothing, nada). Check fuses, all looks ok. I nip to my KIA dealership on the way home, suspect the stereo maybe needs a code. The service department had never heard of this concept (thought this was common place!), perhaps a fuse has blown elsewhere and they can’t get to it, suggest the car goes for diagnostics, “how much will it cost” “how long is a piece of string?” Helpful. I decline, I can live without a stereo for now, it doesn't sit right with me that it isn't working and I want to read more.... Read more
Thank you!
Sadly these days, the financial repercussions of dismissing the plank outright, though anyone with common sense would agree with you, would be a mere deposit on the costs incurred through this episode as such a result too severe because the incident would probably not be classed as gross misconduct, he'd quite likely succeed in claiming insufficient training...he might even get that final scratched on appeal.
Trust me i've seen all sorts in recent years that would make your hair stand on end, with companies terrified to use any real discipline on complete incompetents, honestly you'd weep. Read more
She has now. I gave her another chance in October: this type of subhuman wasn;t as common then.
I have driven my car on the same roads for 1 year with no flat tires. I got my first flat tire 3 months ago , and have had two further ones since. In the same wheel. All 3 times the AA and tire place (I've used the same place each time) have pointed to a small but deep cut in the tire and said it's from something on the road. After the second one, which was within a week of the first puncture (after which I replaced all 4 tires with £160 Pirellis), the tire place said they couldn't see anything wrong with the rim or tyre structure after I asked. All 3 were in different places on country roads.
So I am.now on my third puncture from a basic gravel driveway. On the same front left tire. ... Read more
If it's the same wheel, the wheel is either corroded or porous...

Hello everyone,
My current car insurance rate is way too high. I've been with this company for 10+ years but I am now going to switch. It is the company that my parent chose for me when I first was learning how to drive. I have received a bunch of quotes for car insurance, which are all significantly lower. Can you give me tips on selecting one? I'm not sure which companies are trustworthy.... Read more

Hi all,
I recently took a car I inherited to the local dealership to sell to them as I have no room or need for it. It was my grandmother's but I have no sentimental value with the car as I always travelled to her and took her places. I have fallen out with family for wanting to sell it but they offered me a LOT less to buy from me than what the dealership offered me.... Read more
Your are the victim of your own actions. Probate had gone through, you had legal title to the car. You should have followed the DVLA instructions for such cases. You then compounded the problem by giving the Dealer irelevent info, as you also did when posting here, which has the caused the current problem.
Agreed Palcouk, as you know when people are in an uncertain or unfamiliar situation they tend to over egg the pudding. Thinking that more is reinforcing their case, when actually it is muddying the waters. From business I learned to stick to the facts as you know them and make brief, precise bullet points which are difficult to misinterpret. I would have thought the dealership would have been familiar with the DVLA process and advised her accordingly. However we all need a little help from time to time, after all the forum is here for that purpose mostly. It is nice to see a situation sorted out when good advice is followed. Cheers Concrete
Hi,
We're looking to put all-weather tyres on my girlfriend's MX-5, in case we get any dodgy weather over winter (all-weather rather than winter, as I'd like to leave them on even if the weather doesn't get too cold/bad).... Read more

Hi we got a Zafira 1.7 diesel 2013 and my oil sump needs replacing, my mechanic thinks the exhaust may be in the way, he says the petrol engine ones need to have the exhaust removed and the 1.7 diesel he thinks maybe ok, he has not seen the car at the moment as we are 60 miles away and I can not get under the car due to disabilities, does anybody know if the exhaust needs to come off for this work? Not sure, but wouldn’t be surprised if it had to be loosened off for access.
Edited original reply as I misread and thought it was for an oil change!
