If there are any IT experts on here I would be very glad of your help please.
I stupidly reacted to a Google security email message today and on their advice activated the security feature "Turn off less secure apps" ..................... Read more
I was initially shocked at how bland it looked in a leaked brochure picture, but it's modern simplicity, with the right trim level and wheels, is growing on me. Good to see they've resisted the ridiculous 'fashionable' trend of reducing rear visibility with a rear quarter upward tick eating into window space (e.g. the next Toyota Yaris and quite a few other new models).
Shame they aren't offering a full electric version (yet). That would be a much more suitable car for electrification than the somewhat disappointing Honda e in my opinion.

The only reason they will not be built in the UK is that the EU gave them a free trade agreement so they can import them direct from the place they are made and not have to pay an import tax. This EU decision would not have been made so that Honda could close it's factory in the UK!!!!. I wonder if the same decision would have been made by the EU if the factory had been in France or Germany. Also PSA buying Vauxhall !!!.
This country has had it,
Most of the profits from Electric and gas companies, Railway companies, building Nuclear power stations, motor production etc. etc. go abroad, the UK citizen gets a bad deal .
Re: No hesitation
I was under the impression from reading other previous correspondence and posts on the Backroom that in a good number of cases, the so-called software 'fix' for the 1.5TSI kangarooing problem had not worked. Read more
Perhaps those who previous 'fixes' that didn't work could write in here on to HJ directly to say if the later software fix actually worked for them - we can't really infer it worked until a good number of people who've had it say it has (especially those who'd had problems that weren't fixed by the previous fix). Not HJ's fault though, just we need more sources to say if the fix has worked across the board.
I assumed, rightly or wrongly, that HJ was referring to the previous software fix that hadn't worked )especially as I wasn't aware of the 2-3 updates witha a few people saying the fix worked) or the hardware fix that can't be retrospectively applied to cars, only to new ones because their engine design is different and takes the additional hybrid system....
This week's postbag is, in my view, not a great advert for Audi in particular nor VAG in general. And also a rather recurring theme, it seems. Read more
I owned a Hyundai Coupe SIII from new. It was a 2 litre petrol with reasonable performance, very well equipped, great Ferrari-like looks and a lovely, spacious interior.
The Veloster did not tick any of those boxes and the three doors have been tried and failed on other brands.
Call me naive, but should not such a study have been completed before miles of motorway were converted? Read more
For Smart read Stupid or something more sinister, it's long been proved that more lanes equals more cars, the congestion remains the same or gets even worse as people are attracted to it, the saturation point has been well passed. What Stupid idiots made the decision to build these stupid 'hardshoulderless' b***** expensive and dangerous Smart Motorways, how did this ever get through?? Are these idiots still making other stupid decisions at our expense...if you can't 'earn' a living work for the government free loader welcome.
Or has someone somewhere taken a big back hander?
For the last few weeks I've noticed I'm getting an occasional power loss when accelerating from low speeds in my jaguar xf diesel. The car feels like it's gone into limp mode. This lasts only for about 2-3 seconds then the cars is off like a shot. No warning lights appear on the dash. Other than this the car appears to function as normal i.e. normal power, no weird noises, no smoke etc.
Ive had the car in the garage twice with no issues being found but then it happens again. I do allot of long runs and only use premium fuel. It seems to be either the egr, turbo or somthing like that, however the car is not reporting any issues with them as there are no dash lights. Essentially, it feels like your trying to move off in a very high gear. This happens then it goes away and doesn’t seem to come back for a week or two. Read more
Perhaps (one of) the turbo actuator valve(s) needs looking at.
There is an entry in todays "recently answered questions" concerning a failed MOT on a 5year old Mini 29000miles needing a total rear brake replacement according to the dealership. My question is would the calipers really warp as they are substantial metal parts? Read more
Discs are known to warp occasionally, but calipers? I think not. Tester either a bit confused or just absent-minded.
I read that the new Honda Jazz has been unveiled at the Tokyo motor show. (In Japan it is known as the Honda Fit). The key feature of the next generation model is that it will have a hybrid power train only.
There are a number of members of this forum who swear by their Jazzes, with good reason I’m sure. However, I wonder how they will react to the idea that their next new Jazz will be a hybrid. Honda anticipate a dip in sales initially, but then fully expect numbers to return to normal once the hybrid version has had time to establish itself.... Read more
Busses, lorries and even white vans however are quite often helpful to overtaking traffic.
Not round my way they aren't, excluding Buses the rest just try and get where they are going asap and do get annoyed when they come across a slow driver, tailgating is nothing unusual where I live, having said that pedestrians are just as bad- just walking out into the road without even looking and usually looking into the phone screen
Since childhood, I am afraid of driving vehicle with loud music because I am witness of my cousin's terrible accident. Now, as a mother of grown up girl who recently passed her driving test, I am scared if she uses loud music. Whenever, I talk with her said, mom, I only go claim music not the loud and fast tracks but as a mother, I know her love for fast and loud songs.
I am not saying I am against the use of music while driving but as I love her a lot so I don't want to take any risk. My daughter is going to install an android stereo system in the vehicle so I am willing to get the one which would keep me alert about her location and her choice of music and volume etc. I found stereo reviews here xxxx and willing to get the one that have some tracking features and shares it with me. I can also use any app etc in this regard. So, you can suggest me any app as well but only the android ones.
According to my husband, we can't restrict our girl for small things and shared this story with me xxxx but I am prefer to go with any prevention to avoid any big problem.
On the other hand, if you think I should go with any customized speakers or other audio systems then you can also share your views. I am not expert in these things but sure, I will consider your advice in serious manner.
Your suggestions and pieces of advice would also be good in this regard. Read more
Knuckle dragging appalling driver here.
Yes i do have some music loud, especially Alice Cooper's older album stuff...ignore the hits you will have heard many times they are not in any way representative of this artist...but loud music has its place..the car must a have a decent sound system so the music is rich and not some garish racket....
My friend was purchased car last year(I have a good credit score, so I was the co-signer for him at that time). Now I am planning to buy a car. Is it possible to get a car loan for me? Read more
As above only way to find out is to apply. Even then you may find some lenders will offer you a loan while others throw up their hands in horror - all depends on their criteria and whether they think you can afford it.
Obviously, if you're seen as risky you will be pushed towards higher cost lenders/deals. ...
As my name suggests I am a Thunderbird user and have been for probably 10 year or more. Does everything Outlook does (including multiple accounts) all for nothing....
