Hello,
This is my first post, so I hope it is in the correct section?
I am having some concerns with my clutch, well, tbh, I've had concerns since I purchased it in December 2018.
I was advised the vehicle required a new "clutch kit" prior to collecting, which was allegedly fitted. I took the vehicle away, immediately I noticed a slight squeak when slightly compressing the clutch. I made this known to the dealership, which was then booked in before Christmas. The road test came back with "no fault found". I wasn't happy with this, so waited for the Holiday's to pass over, and in the New Year returned again with the fault - again, "no fault found".
Fast forward, since June I've been trying to raise this concern with the dealership, but emails went unanswered and phone calls were not returned. Upon having the vehicle MOT'd, the mechanic advised he had concerns of the clutch when driving it around the back of the garage.
I've had the car back at the dealership today, as I have been advised there is a 12 month (when I initially collected the car) warranty on the clutch - immediately the mechanic noticed the fault, the same fault I was complaining about since December/January!
I'm being asked to front money to have the gearbox "dropped" in order to investigate, but can anyone advise if this is an issue with Hyundai's? Google search shows some reports of clutch problems.... Read more
Hi guys, i am looking for a bit of advice please.
I would like to buy a 2006 diesel espace for a bargain price but the sellers says all the dash lights are illuminated, my question is, is this an easy fix or is it a major issue and should i stay away from it.? ... Read more
The answer is quite simple - if you are genuinely interested in the car, suggest to the seller that if he gets the problem fixed you will pay him a fair price. If he won't, your earlier question is answered.
Can anyone advise whether new a VW Polo is available with a 4 cylinder petrol engine?
I can not find any VW specification sheet that details this. Read more

While I was driving through the Hindhead Tunnel on the A3 today, I noticed the C-HR's built-in Sat-Nav continued to update my position. The tunnel has a noticeable bend yet the Sat-Nav kept the marker on the correct road throughout and there was no sudden jump in position when I emerged at the other side.
As the GPS signal is very weak, I don't think the Sat-Nav can use it in the tunnel, so I assume it must have other information such as the car's speed and direction to fall back on. Is this common in Sat-Navs these days?... Read more
The Dartford tunnels are fitted with repeater aerials for radio-don't know about GPS signals tho'.
Not for digital radio they don't. My sat nav works inside the tunnel but not digital radio. Can't be bothered to switch to FM to see if that works, not worth it for a few minutes journey. Not sure if the sat nav receives a repeater or simply works out the speed while in the tunnel. Clever though. Cheers Concrete

"My wife insists she does not want a people carrier, so I am looking at what SUV's might work."
I do question some people's logic. If you need to carry a lot of people - in this case 3 adults and 2 children in child seats - that is what a people carrier is for. Some but not all SUVs may do the same job, but the dividing line between an SUV and a people-carrier (or MPV) is blurred and not really relevant....

The GAP policy provider we had on the Superb and Note went bust, first we knew about it was letters from a law company in Gibraltar. The following day received a letter form the broker informing us to ignore the letters from Gibraltar since they had already placed our polices with and alternative company under the financial compensation legislation.
No need to worry.
Last week I was a passenger being driven south of Geneva on the autoroute. We were approaching a tunnel. Without prior warning both lanes at the tunnel entrance showed red crosses above them. Traffic immediately in front of us carried on as they were pretty much committed but my mate rightly stopped. Then two staggered barriers came down across the lanes, like level crossing barriers.
A second or two later a French plate car came from behind us at a fair speed and slalomed the barriers. We sat and after about thirty seconds the barriers lifted and the signs went out. We drove carefully onwards but there was no sign of any incident.
I can't see anything online about these lights and barriers. We wondered if it was to control pollution? It seemed pretty dangerous to stop the running lanes without any form of countdown.
Anybody any idea what was going on? Read more
That is correct Smileyman, however nothing takes into account the French attitude! They just blunder on ahead regardless! Crazy folks. I find sudden road closures are a feature of the Swiss-Franco border areas; been held up there many times for no discernible reason. C'est la vie!! Cheers Concrete

To all you snowflakes that believe there is no life outside of the EU. Well I drove across the continent in 1969 without growing two heads or losing both legs. Life did happen before the EU and will again. I also drive in the US and Canada, neither of which is in the EU, and survived. Yes I would vote leave tomorrow and teh next day. I hate being controlled by a foreign power. Life will go on and get used to it.Well said mate ??

Hyundai make good cars , but most of their range seem to suffer from weak clutches.
Look back at owner reviews on i10, i20 ,i30 & i40 and there are an alarmingly high number of people who have had to replace clutches. Quite a number of these claim never to have had clutch problems on any previous cars owned, so I think there is a genuine concern over the quality of the original fit clutches....
