The front drivers side locking nut has been rounded off and while unsuccessfully attempting to release it the tyre fitter damaged the wheel bearing,I will take it to a garage for the wheel removing and bearing replacing but just wondered given the age of the car and I don't want to spend much on it, from a mechanics point of view, would it be simpler to replace the wheel assembly with a 2nd hand one rather than fitting a new bearing, i can get a wheel assembly for £20. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEUGEOT-307CC-O-S-DRIVERS-SIDE-WHEEL-HUB/233165611682?hash=item3649c0e2a2:g:F6EAAOSwysFcC9L3 thanks. I was behind a blue i10 tonight. At the lights I noticed an ugly rusty streak down the tailgate. Only a 2011 plate. I thought rust was supposed to be not an issue these days? Out of warranty but if it was my car I'd get it looked at. Read more
Poorly repaired accident damage probably.
Do you think tyre manufacturers and distributors should include tread depth in their specifications? I recently had fitted what I thought was a set of mid-range tyres (Firestone Roadhawk) at a Halfords Autocentre for my old Audi A3 and subsequently found that their tread depth is only 6mm, i.e. 4.4mm of useable tread. That’s more than 30% less usable tread compared with what I thought was the norm of 8mm.
The above is in the HJ agony column today. HJ reply is it is not the tread depth but how many miles the tyre will do.... Read more
I once remember going great lengths trying to get an identical set of original fit Michelin's for a Pug 306 I had brought new in 1996. It must have taken me 10 or more 'phone calls before I found somewhere that had them in stock (pre-tinterweb).
The mileage was 52,000 when I brought the full set (I had rotated the originals at ~25,000) and this new set were still in great nick when I sold the car with almost 90,000 miles on it....
I regularly drive different cars and after an incident today when someone lost attention and wandered over the white line towards me, I really ought to get a dash cam.
I need a good resolution for detail like number plates when playing clips back; quick to release and fix to windscreens when changing between vehicles; if possible, a reasonable battery life so I don't need a charge lead hanging off it all the time.... Read more

The OP says he's successfully used the code before.
As I see it, there are two possibilities: either he has mis-remembered what he did before, or the radio has developed a fault since he last entered the code.
Hi,
Went to use my car yesterday and I realised that the rear left indicator is not working. I picked this up from the rapid clicking of the indicator switch when I flick left and getting out of the car and doing a visual check. ... Read more
Hey,
Exactly as you suggested elekie&a/c doctor. The rear bulb was a bad connection, `fixed` by taking the light unit off and jiggling the wires around a bit. The front headlight needed a new bulb....
Have had several instances in the last ten months of the electric handbrake not releasing when pulling away from stationery, also some occasions when it released only to apply again instantly when pulling away.
Local dealer has looked twice at this, once under warranty and once included in service, nothing found wrong and nothing on log.... Read more

Shocking.
It wasn't that long ago that kind of money would get you a much bigger car.
Greedy manufacturers have completely lost the plot regarding pricing. I'll never buy a new car again - not because I can't afford to, but because I resent paying so much for so little.
Maybe they are "making hay whilst the sun shines" whilst using things like BREXIT as an excuse, before we're all forced to drive around in the same automated electric boxes.

Makes no difference if it's a lease/company car. The P11D value will always be higher.
Thanks I wasn't sure if that would be easier or not, hopefully it's better, fingers crossed.
