I wish to replace my Seat Alhambra (2008) with something newer as I've already been stung by the ABS issue. Quite like the look of the Tourans but wary of hitting the same issue again. Do they still use these dodgy Teves units these days? How new does a car have to be to avoid the problem? Read more

Plenty of Teves units still being used, not seen any problems from around 2010 build year.Plenty of other issues with Tourans and other Vag cars.

Very occasionally when braking, the pedal would go down to the floor with no braking. If the pedal was released and pressed again the brakes were OK. Although this only happened at very low speeds, I had the brakes bled, then a new master cylinder fitted. The problem has since ( a month later ) occured again. This isn't too concerning when stopping at a junction but it does worry me when on the motorway!

Any ideas anyone? Read more

My 306 brake pedal went straight to the floor because the rubber vaccum seal in the servo failed.

Hi, my Citroen Relay 2.2HDi has sprung a water leak from high up behind the engine. (Just below the front end of the exhaust manifold is the furthest I can track it) I can't see the source - but are there any 'usual suspects' up there?

Is there a hidden bleed screw/cap up there in the shadows?... Read more

Way before the referendum there was a post on this website claiming that Renault were considering transferring Nissan production from Sunderland to under utilised Renault plants in France.

This would give them direct access to the very successful Nissan line up and bolster production on the home front.

I would say further the top speed quoted by a simple goodle search for 1.4 tdi is 114mph, you need to check your exact model more carefully I suspect.

I am looking to get a towbar fitted to my V40, ideally a detachable one as it will only be used occasionally to use with a cycle carrier.

The main dealer has quoted me over £700 with the usual spiel that 'you need a Volvo one' etc. I am not taken in by that but just want to check if there 'are' actually reasons why a franchise supplied bar is preferable to an after market one?... Read more

Volvo don't make towbars - any their dealers sell badged as Volvo will be made by one of the major towbar makers, eg Witter, Westfailia, etc.

Most dealers will sub-contact out the fitting anyway but with a big add-on....
