My Peugeot Partner was struggling to start on first start up, turned over no problem but took a few tries til it caught, then starts up first time for the rest of the day and runs well.
Changed all 4 glow plugs, starts instantly and runs well, but when i drive loses power and black smoke, iv learnt black smoke is too much fuel, what have we done wrong? Read more

Some years back, one of the engineers at work told me that first gear in car gearboxes was designed for a life of a matter of maybe 15 minutes at full power.
The length of time one would normally spend at full power in frst gear is short, so this may have been true.... Read more

After a long run my scenic with automatic transmission came to a halt with all warning dashboard lights glaring at me indicating stop . I had to be rescued by Green Flag who towed me to the nearest garage but will not be looked at till Monday. The Commer was an opposed piston engine, not quite the same - it had a very distinctive exhaust note.
Just as the Deltic diesel locomotive was opposed piston in triangular formation with three crankshafts - have a look at the animation here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Napier_Deltic and originated from a pre-WW2 German aircraft engine!
I have just received a £100 fine for a 17 minute overstay on a free carpark, maximum stay 90 minutes. Private land adjacent a superstore. My thoughts are to write to them and claim excessive and unjustifialble amount. Any thoughts ? many thanks. Read more
Update on this thread. I challenged the proportionality of the charge, it works out at £5.88 per minute. However as the carpark was free for 90 minutes with no mention of set charges for any overstay so therefore impossible to set a charge for something that was free in the first place.
The occupier of the land very quickly cancelled the ticket. There is no doubt Parking Eye makes money by assuming they can frighten people into paying....

No,it does not matter where the roof switch is .I wanted to confirm that the door open contact on the drivers door pillar is working.If the issue continues,I suspect there is a problem with one of the front door latches.
