Has anyone had cold steam coming out of the car vents when the air con is on please? Thanks Read more

It's just water vapour condensing due to the lowering of temperature.

I've seen it inside an aircraft on the apron at start up. Can cause some alarm as there's usually the smell of jet fuel around and passengers could think it's smoke.

Can be automatic or manual

What's the deal with the n47 engines and chain belt thing? Looking at Wikipedia I see the 2012 f30 3 series uses this engine...so is this a possible fault? And if so is there any advice, because let's be honest, who on earth wants to buy a time bomb???? Apart from that the 320d seems perfect for my needs

These have an auxiliary electric coolant pump attached to the side of the engine block.It boosts the flow of coolant through the egr valve.(another regular fail component)The pump is around £130,and around 1-1.5 hrs to fit,as the coolant will need to be drained and re-filled.You have done well for it to last that long!

They don't look like chevrons to me, more like spaces for motorcycles !

You could be right there!

This car has a permanent tendency to pull (some times sharply) both to the left or right regardless of road camber, so much so that it makes the drivers arm and wrist ache as you continually need to keep the steering weighted/corrected to maintain the car in the straight ahead position. Bizarly sometimes it does not pull at all but this is rarer! Likewise under very heavy breaking it will often pull either randomly to the left or right.... Read more

Yes they are larger lower profile on alloy wheels ( factory fit)

Continental cross contacts 225/55 r18

Same make all around.

Any one else have a outlander with same issue? If the car handles this poorly on these wheels maybe i should replace with steels and standard tyres?

It is time for us to get a younger replacement for our 1.7 petrol Honda FR-V (which we are keeping on as a second car). I am expecting to finance using PCP and would prefer an arrangement where the total cost over three years is under £10k.

Due to a relatively low annual mileage (no more than 10k) and multiple short trips (typical journey in the week 5-10 miles) it needs to be another petrol. The Qashqai with the 1.2 DIG-T engine and NConnecta trim is the main contender. ... Read more

Have you given any consideration to the Mitsubishi ASX? It is a big seller down here (Australia/New Zealand) and Mitsi price them very keenly.

Another left-field choice would be the Ssangyong Tivoli. HJ (and others) give them very positive reviews... Selling well too I believe....

OK so MOT failed today due to CO emissions during natural idle but appeared to be fine during fast idle. Any help appreciated at this time need to get back on the road ASAP and cannot figure out what could cause this. Everything I have seen online shows CO fail at both natural and fast idle speeds.

Measurements

Engine Oil Temp --- Min 60 Deg C --- Actual Value 60 Deg C --- OK

Fast Idle Test
Engine Speed --- 2500-3000rpm --- Manual Check --- PASS
CO --- <=0.200% --- 0.101% --- PASS
HC --- <=0.200% --- 75ppm --- PASS
Lambda --- 0.970-1.030 --- 0,998 --- PASS

Natural Idle Test
Engine Speed --- 450-1500rpm --- Manual Check --- PASS
CO --- <=0.300% --- 0.807% --- FAIL

I would concur, sounds like a relatively normal diesel noise but with a noisy auxiluary belt/tensioner.
