I recently became the increasingly annoyed owner of this Wreg Clio and can't for the life of me get the thing to fire up! Everything works as it should but there is no spark and no life from the injectors. I tested each injector in turn and they all work and there is good fuel pressure, I changed the crank sensor but no change. I even tried a different ecu/bcu/key kit and it was no different. Annoyingly the wiring on it doesn't match anything in the Haynes manual so before I begin the tiresome task of checking ALL the engine wiring can anybody help with this problem? Any ideas of things to check or test that might save a lot of my time would be of great help, I think the car is to good to scrap and wanted it for my son in a year when he hopefully starts driving. Can any other sensors cause this issue? I know the injectors and coil electrics are linked but I can't keep buying parts blindly hoping for a miracle!!!

Sorry, but nobody on this forum can do Keycodes for "V" serial numbers. We can only do "M".
Ford main dealer, online companies or sellers on Ebay will all be able to assist you on this one.

Where 28/32 TLDM auto choke carb with tick over at 1500 when hot. The throttle lever can be pushed back on to the throttle stop to reduce rpm to 900. When the engine is not running the lever rests on the throttle stop but as soon as the engine is running again the lever will not return to the stop unless pushed. The auto choke is working as the butterfly valve opens as the engine warms. The fast idle adjustment seems ok as when hot the fast idle adjustment screw is clear of the fast idle cam. Any help would be much appreciated. Read more
Many thanks for your assistance but got it sorted this am. The adjustment was out on one of the two vacuum assisted throttle kickers.
Would fitting a K&N Panel High-flow Air Filter to a Mk2 1.8 Mazda MX-5 improve engine performance? Would this be achieved by fitting a new filter on its own, or would I have to consider other changes, e.g. heat shield, air intake system? Many thanks for all thoughts and advice.

Engineer Andy makes a good point about tailgating and the false sense of security given by safety systems.
On the M62 last weekend it was rare to see anyone in lane 3 that had left an appropriate gap to the one in front, so they were braking often and when matrix signs put on 50 and 40 limits the braking chain reaction led to a complete stop....
