Just ask to see the V5C for the vehicle; the previous owners details are contained in it!

Exactly - and if the Data Protection Act gets thrown at you, walk away....

I have read in the QQ Forum that several people have had excessive oil consumption with this model. Are you aware of how widespread this is, one to avoid? Read more

Found this link while reading about a completely different subject (Skylab) but there's a great article on the new technology (!) of space saving tyres (page 85):

And the brand new Fiat X19 gets a brief mention, as do steering wheel controls on a Citroen (PP 88 & 89)... Read more

Have a listen to the video i did yesterday morning from cold. It started first time then you hear it stall once revved and from then on its a nightmare to start.

If it wasnt for the obvious loss of compression you could say its fuel issue or even glow plug issue.

Thoughts asap would be appreciated.

IS IT POSSIBLE FOR THE CONDENSOR UNIT TO BE DAMAGED BY A FLYING STONE

BEEN TOLD BY AGARAGE THAT THE UNIT NEEDS REPLACING AS DAMAGED BY A STONE Read more

Possibly, but unlikely.the number of condensers I have seen that have genuinely been damaged by flying debris can be counted on one hand, and that's over a 30 year period.More likely to be a fail through corrosion.

Just taken my VW in for a headrest replacement and they mentioned they would do the recall as well that turned out to be the emmisions software update. I refused on the basis that VW have told me they would write to me when the technical measure was ready to be implented and they haven't.

I've had a look at the VW website and they do is confirm that I need to book my vehicle in. Anyone any knowledge of the nature of the fix and effect on performance, fuel economy etc please? Read more

Having spent hours reading and watching reviews we finally had a test drive in a auris hybrid. First time I've driven a hybrid (or automatic for that matter) and it was a little odd to start with. Some observations:... Read more

The reason the car doesn't use the full range of the battery is to prolong its life. If the battery is run close to flat there is a risk that slightly weaker cells(s) may be foreced into reverse charge which rapidly ruins them.

Hello, i will buy a car later this summer and i am thinking between the DS3 and Ibiza FR both in auto. Th eibiza has the DSG the ds3 has a convetional auto gearbox. Which one do you think i should buy and why? Thank you! Read more

Are you only qualified to drive an automatic? If possible, have some fun and go for a manual - probably the Ibiza of the ones you've listed. If it has to be an automatic, then probably the DS3.

Some Vauxhall Corasa were fitted with the most appalling semi-automatic gearbox, misnamed 'Easytronic'. I'm not sure what auto box Astras have, but enquire carefully....
