Peugeot 3008 - Price of replacement mirrors - Robertgwc

Enquiring about a replacement electric folding heated mirror with indicator and puddle light I was quoted £314 by a Peugeot dealer. A mirror specialist online quoted £88 for the same item, new, including delivery.

Is this a record?

Pattern part?

I had a similar episode with headlights on mk1 Outlander, notorious for crazing.

OE roughly £350 a side, pattern parts £150ish a pair, obviously i bought pattern, it was being sold anyway...they didn't fit properly, very poorly made and lacking the all important levelling motors of OE items.

Verdict, rubbish, but seeing as none to be found in the scrap yards and being reluctant to pay 4 x the price they had to do.

Many years ago (in swirtzerland) one of my clients had an Aston martin with a broken drivers mirror. supplied him wirh a door mirror (on a stem)(from an xj s2 coupe) that did the trick and he was very happy at a tenth of the cost, can't do that anymore..

pattern parts for Ford's can be seriously cheap comapred to a dealer and scrap yard.

There has been a big increase in the number of pattern parts for Hyundai and Kia vehicles.
