I went to the local garden centre for some 'Slug Clear' liquid, which I've used fguess or years as the most effective means of controlling slugs - much better than pellets and as its a liquid penetrates the soil, nothing left for pets to pick up and kills slug egges as well.
None on the shelf, I was informed that its no longer available, guess why? Banned by the EU unelected officials from February this year.... Read more
Hi,
I am pondering which first car to buy. I learnt in a Fiesta so it will be a fall back, but reviews suggest the Yaris and Panda are good (and better alternatives), and then I learn that the Corolla hatchback (02-06) is better and more reliable than the Yaris. Insurance matters too but I was told that Corolla is reliable so even though bigger than the others, insurance would not be high.... Read more
At your budget level, condition matters more than make or model, so keep an open mind.
That said, nothing soldiers on quite like an old Toyota, so that could be a good place to start looking. I believe that Corollas and Yarises are equally reliable. The Corolla isn't all that much bigger than the Yaris.
I would appreciate some advice on the following. I took out GAP insurance and an extended warranty with Autoprotect (this was with Motorpoint) suffice to say they will not communicate with me and have had no communication with them regarding claims .... they just don`t answer emails and ignore anything you send them. They could have gone bust for all I know! I am currently going through the complaints procedure with them. I would not buy one of these warranties ever again. However I have had an offer from Toyota to extend the manufacture`s warranty for 2 years at a cost of £516... this includes breakdown cover so the extra cost to me is somewhere in the region of £300-£350. On the surface this looks a good deal if the warranty is a good one and the terms and conditions are not silly. Has anyone had any experience of claiming off one of these warranties? Thanks for your help. Read more
Toyota initially quoted me the same but after a few weeks sent me another quote for £335

I've had the same problem trying to get the serial number from a radio in a C-Max, the only way to get the serial number is to take it out and have a look at the label.

I can't find the code anywhere but I have the serial number which is V016499 if anyone help me Read more
Sorry, nobody on this forum can do Ford Radio Keycodes for "V" serial numbers. You need access to the Ford database to be able to do them.
Ford Main Dealer or there are sellers on Ebay who claim they can do them for a small fee.
Afternoon all, my first post so please be gentle with me.
My disabled partner has just bought a second hand disability van as above. He has spinal stenosis and has been in a wheelchair for the last 5 years. He receives Attendance Allowance but not DLA, for some inexplicable reason. The van has been specially adapted for a wheelchair user, so has a lift, hand controls, most seats removed etc.... As the OP refers to Attendance Allowance I assume the partner is over pension age. If they're not getting legacy DLA or PIP for Mobility and are over 64 it's not possible to start a new claim for a benefit that would allow vehicle to remain in disabled class. That's not new, it goes back at least as far as introduction of DLA c1992.
Change of tax class can, as slkfan says, be done at Post Office: ...
