In a nut shell, I've been looking at purchasing a 02 -05 plate Audi TT and would just like to know if there is a significant difference between the 180 and 225. The 225 is my preferred option but I am finding it hard to get the colour combo with FSH that like. I have however come across a couple of 180 Bhp motors that tick all the boxes except the 225bhp one. so If I opted for a 180 would I be selling myself short. I appreciate there's the obvious difference in 0-60, top end and torque but I'm not looking to drag race off traffic lights or set regular PB's at track days but I would however hate to lose too much from the overall driving experience if there is one Read more

My son had a 180bhp TT back in 2005 - band new and plenty "enjoyment" - he had some intention of the faster one BUT children started to arrive and the faster TT became a 525d (he looked like he was driving his dad's car!)

Hi there - I've signed up to buy a 65 plate (registered in September 2015) Ford Focus Hatchback 1.0 125 Ecoboost Zetec 5dr 999cc deep impact blue 5dr manual petrol. On the paperwork, it says that the road tax (RFL) for the year is £30. Everywhere that I look on the internet says it should be £20. Should it be £20 or £30? Read more

Same body, same gearbox BUT different tax rates are possible - higher spec model might have bigger/wider tyres and push it over the limit.

My CRV, petrol+auto, in EX spec is £225, the SE is £205!

Check the wiring where it runs from the body to the tailgate through the rubber boot.Seen many with fractured or broken wires, but be careful,I think you will find all the wiring is the same colour, either black or white.

I'm looking for a fairly small car, mainly for city driving, but able to fit 2 children's bikes inside the boot, and good for very occasional long (4 or 5 hours) motorway drives. Will I find something? I can spend about 4500 pounds. Also how much mileage is too much? I have seen a 2008 Toyota Yaris 1.3, which I thought would be good, but has 70000 in mileage. I've been looking for less than 30000. Any advice welcome Thanks. Read more

Something like the Fabia estate that I suggested will be able to get small kiddie bikes in the boot, but you'll be able to fit a bike rack later on.

Alternatively, get an estate with roof rails and you can fit a roof rack to take the bikes, again when the children are bigger.

I have an issue with cold starting on my estima 3ct diesel 93.

This being since the temperature outside dropped before that the vehicle started and ran ok. I now have to sit and press the accelerator pedal, turn the key and start the engine hold the fast tickover till it warms up a little then all is fine. I have naver had to sit in the vehicle with this procedure before so something amiss. I have looked at the pump as I turn the key and noticed there is no movement on the fast idle control. Anyone any ideas please. Regards. Read more

Glad to hear that you got it sorted! I had been reading your commets and wondered. They are reliable cars so glad you managed to work out the issue and are back up and running.

Aswell as the screen giving data, the fine details of junctions, correct lanes etc appear on the dash between the two main dials.

The dash readout has now disappeared after 3 years of working perfectly OK.... Read more

Isn't there something in the options setup for displaying it in the dash centre too ?

All I can think is that the car has done an over-air update on the nav, and has gone to some sort of default setting. I'll have a root round on my ProNav menu tomorrow though, if I get the chance.

Hi guys

Looking for some advice. I have a 1998 1.6 golf which is still going strong however it has recently starting cutting out at low revs when I'm reversing or in a low gear and I don't give it enough gas so I'm currently having to keep the revs high to stop it from cutting out. ... Read more

A quick search on the usual online auction site using pertinent search terms will find a suitable tool for undoing the present mangled nuts, and a further search will find you a shiny new set of lockers...that will in all likelihood be rusty by the end of the month unless you buy a known brand.
