Does the DVLA still send out reminders ?. My Tax is due to start on 1st February and to date had no reminder so went on DVLA website today to Tax me vehicle.

I had understood, from "The Backroom", that once a vehicle was over 40 years old it was eligible for exemption from Road Tax.
I had therefore assumed that my Lightweight, manufactured on 1 October 1975, would be exempt, but I see from the DVLA's INF 34 that the Exemption only applies to vehicles manufactured before 1 January 1975....... Read more

A lot of people out there will be having problems with speeding offences from north wales police, but it is also covered by Cheshire police. Over the Christmas period a lot will have had speeding offences through the post. Cheshire police are nuturious for being like the Nazi as, on the rd. They even make up their own offences at times.As all will know the police get all funds from seizures, fines, and sales of seized goods.
Because of this the police of cheshire/north wales are running a business, and when they require funds they will get them any way they can. Even with false charges because they need the money for the officers.... Read more

I disliked mine to start with - but soon got used to it as I discovered that the brake pedal switch has two positions - by carefully ALMOST releasing the brake pedal, I can restart the engine but stop the car moving.
And I can apply the electronic handbrake, select neutral on the autobox and release footbrake - to avoid dazzling the numpties who pull up too close behind me!
