I've got a Vauxhall zafier 56 plate and have had nothing but problems with the heater system. One minit it blows hot air and then goes cold. The windscreen vents do not work which makes it unsafe to drive. I've got it booked in for a recall. Will they sort it out Read more
Hi all,
I am here to get some advice on buying a new car. I had bought second hand car 3 times and had a very bad experience. Secondly I am moving further away from London and commutes will be even longer. The plan is to have a decent and comfortable car, a car that is also reliable. I have decided to go Auotmatic on transmission for enjoyable drive. But I dont have any expertise in cars. ... Read more
I had my Ford Focus M.O.T'd January 2015.
I had to have a rear tyre fitted. Afterwards I had a 3 hour drive to where I was moving to and when I got there I noticed a nail in the rear tyre.... Read more
Thank-you for the answers.
All I can think is that I added a tiny bit of fairy liquid to my washer bottle. The next day the plastic washer jet was gunged up and where the water had ran down the bonnet it had left black marks, I guess from the black plastic jet nozzle, and has stained into the paint. Water from the jets that hit my wndscreen and then ran down my wing and drivers door have left white run marks. These marks have faded slightly after a thorough wash but they are still clearly visible. These marks disappear when heated up but then reappear later once cooled down. Any ideas on what to do? My fault - I had misremembered - my post is there, in a thread in Technical.
Remember the Beat? Well, the S660 is today's version. Sadly, Japan only. I'll get in trouble if I post a link. Australia's best monthly car magazine has a review. But you don't need to see a magazine to read about it. Read more
I had a Cappuccino until my first boy was 6 months.
It was real fun. I used it every day and didn't find it tiring in any way....

Does this mean that my current MOT certificate is invalid? Also since VIC inspection have been abolished, will people know that my car has been previously written off if they did a HPI check? Is there anything else I should be aware of in relation to owning a car that has been written off?
AFAIR the MOT will have been invalidated (you can check the system at mot-history.net/ (but it seems to be down just now)....

Done. However as a scientist I would reject any results from the survey. How on earth do you know your sample base and whether it is representative in any way at all?
I ended up getting a friend of a friend to do this and on completion realised that some of the bolts were not tightened too much. Following heated discussions I have been taking the car back and forth to various garages to tighten one thing after another including the recent engine mounting bolt; as that fell out.
It passed the MOT and was told there is play in the steering. I notice a knock when going over bumps and it doesnt feel right. Could this also be linked to alack of tightening screws in the engine and clutch? If so, which screws and would they be easy to get to for me?... Read more
Assuming he didn't completely b***** up the first thing I'd check would be play in the bottom ball joints.
This can produce a significant "clunk" over bumps....
Doing my VED renewal a bit early, as away for a few days and don't want to leave it till last minute.

As our glorious leaders seem to enjoy playing fast and loose with our personal information, why supply. It to them when it can be avoided.
They already know who you are...and can find out anything they want about you should the feel the need...althoigh I expect it's very unlikely they would want to know much about you unless your an undercover spy!
I had the misfortune of being caught up in a census around Durham last night - during peak rush hour of course.
It was a deliberate atmosphere of intimidation. Floodlights, single lane pinched the narrowest it could be by cones. Four coppers with hands resting on tasers, six guys in hi vis gear. I felt like I'm fallen into the cold war era by mistake and was trying to go through the Berlin Wall.... Read more
So you still think that the staff responsible for road maintenance deliberately plan the work to ensure maximum chaos. What an odd world you must live in.
