I have a 2005 Meriva and the back up alarm power sounder has started to go off randomly when I turn the ignition on. Rather than replace it (part is £79 + vat) , I want to remove it (no one will be stealing a 2005 meriva!) - could anyone confirm where the power sounder is as it is not mentioned in the repair manual - some comments on line refer to it being under the passenger side front wheel arch and others under the rear one. I've finally saved up enough (i think!?) cash to buy a nice sporty estate, having recently sold the old but trusty modeo. I've got around 13/14k to spend on a used estate and I'm currently torn between:

The Accord is also available as a 2.4 vtec petrol. It's 198hp, 8.3 secs to 60 and 172 lb ft. The Mazda is only a 2.0l with 165hp, 9.1 and 165lb ft.
if they are contenders the OP would need to drive them to see which meets his needs best. Personally I like the Honda vtec characteristic of liking to rev to get a move on but it's not for everybody. Mpg and tax would favour the Mazda but the aim is sportiness so maybe not key issues.
How do i change brake pad wear sensor on sharan. Read more
If the new pads had new sensor wires fitted, and the light is still on,then it is likely there is a break in the wiring to the connector plug where it runs down the suspension strut.
In days gone by, the police were-as it were-the sheepdogs that guarded the flock-ie the general public-against the wolves of criminality.. But the sheepdogs have now gone feral and are attacking the flock, while ignoring the wolves.

I expect that Hyundai have the US market in mind with this new initiative.
Don't Honda have the upmarket Acura brand in North America? Hyundai just copying their Japanese competitors (as usual?!)...
Evening all,
I drove a new Mazda 6 diesel for a month in the summer and loved it. I can't afford one, but I've been very temped by a high spec, low mileage (30,000), full dealer service history 2012 version that I can afford. Now please talk me out of it.... Read more
Thanks very much all, really appreciate the time you've taken and the advice. The Mazda 6 diesel is now off the list I think. Avensis I hadn't thought of. Boring I'm not too bothered about. Comfort and relaibility are key. I quite like Mondeos - they do seem to have a good reputation for the price.
I suspect there's no right answer to this question, but what's more important in a used car, youth or miles? Is a 40,000 2012 model a better bet than a 29,000 2010 model (all else being equal, service history etc)? Maybe it depends on the car. ...
Hi all, I hope you can help me.
At the end of 2012 my partner bought a van that I use for my businesses. I ocassionally do deliveries in London and have registered on the Congestion Charge website but could not register for automatic payment as someone had registered the vehicle details before me. My partner contacted the car company he bought the vehicle from and asked them to contact the previous owner and tell them to remove their detais so we could register for automatic payment. Needless to say we got nowhere.... Read more
What a mess. A real muddle if ever there was one. Skidpan is right, it would be virtually impossible to unpick everything and start again. I also feel you probably would be unsuccessful in an attempt to reclaim money. At least if you settle the matter in full, you are able to draw a line under it and move on. Poorer but infinitely wiser.
And of course rectify matters regarding future payments, addresses etc....

Oygen sensor most likely culprit.
The Supreme Court has turned down the challenge to the penalties charged by Parking Eye
Anyone is still free to go through an appeals process as there are plenty of other reasons why the demand for a charge can be kicked out - largely around failing to follow due process.
One day HJ himself may suggest people go through a recognised appeal process rather than advising people to simply pay up 'cos there's been a case in Court'!

Thank you elekie&a/c doctor - after taking both front and rear wheel arch liners off in the past with no joy, it is indeed behind the plastic trim panel near side (where there is a funny grille like area that looks like a speaker to let sound into the car)
