When the accelerator is pressed however gently the car jerks forward, both from when the engine is running or when the stop-start starts the engine. A diagnostic test says there is nothing wrong, but what is the cause? Read more

Never mind the stupid computer. Get a mechanic to go out in the car with you and see if he thinks it's normal. If this is the dry-clutch type of DSG, there have been stories of jerky progress.

Hello, I'm looking for some more information/advice.

We brought our 2007 Toyota Corolla Verso with a D4D engine in October 2013 from the dealer after researching the best MPV for reliability and safety for our family. The car had only done 35000 miles and was therefore very attractive to us. We expected it to last us around 4-5 years.... Read more

A month ago, I reported a very similar story with our 2007 Toyota Avensis D4D. We had a similar response from Toyota: it's older than 7 years so the extended warranty doesn't cover it.

We then wrote to the VP of Jemca - the Toyota dealer we bought it from - and we also posted our story here and sent a couple of tweets. ...

We have a 1.8 tdci 2007 Mondeo, it's just had a full service and just passed it's Mot but a few days after it wouldn't start in the morning even tho the battery was fine, we managed to get it started and brought it back to Ford who said there wasn't any faults showing and it was starting every time, we thought okay problem solved but then it happened again, its now happening nearly every morning, the funny thing is we discovered if you try a few different combinations of locking unlocking the car all if a sudden it will then start when ya turn the key. Also the traction control light has started to come on sometimes when driving and stays on, this can be followed by a loss of power which can be remedied by turning the car off and back on. The car was fine going in for its service but straight after all the problems started. Would be very grateful for any help. Read more

when the car was serviced, did they replace the fuel filter? If yes,the it not uncommon for the filter housing to not seal correctly on re-assembly .New plastic housing will fix this.

I believe Honda revised the auxiliary belt routing to reduce the load on the alternator bearing. I think your link to the photo shows the old routing using the idler pulley which is now no longer required. I also think the belt length has change too. You may want to double check this.

I was in a Land Rover dealership some weeks back and the sales person stated the ingenium engine would need an adblue top up every 1500 miles at a JLR dealership. Is this right, it seems like madness? What a pain in the a*** if you live well away from dealers. Read more

The Adblue increases the exhaust gas temp. to hopefully prevent DPF issues.

Adblue had nothing whatsoever to do with the DPF. Adblue is solely to reduce NOX....

Hi,
I bought a citroen c3 2006 very recently. Its my first car and I am a bit clueless.

Well Im having a bit of a problem. My key fell apart so the metal bit and the plastic bit are completly seperate. If I try and use them seperatly the key wont turn in the bit to turn the key on. If i hold them together and try and cellotape them both together then a message flashes on the dashboad and says anti theft error. Today after work I couldnt get it to turn on at all until i pushed the clutch down and shook the steering wheel while turning the key, but the warning message didn't come up.

If I use the spare key to drive that warning message doesnt come up on the dashboard but that key won't open up the car, the buttons on the fob dont seem to work.

Also, twice now when I've stalled (Im very new!) the car wouldn't come back on, the engine was turning over but not sparking. Is it possible the problems could be related?

Any ideas whats going on and how to fix it?

Ive had to get new cambelt, anti roll bars, clutch and am waiting to get the electrics fixed because it keeps saying the lights are faulty when they aren't... So I didnt really want to have to pay £200 for a new key if I could help it :(

Thanks in advance.

Google "ID46 chip", that should give you an idea of what you're looking for and is needed. Its usually tucked away into a recess of the key housing.
