Someone claimed I drove into her car - but it was not true (her passenger just pulled up alongside my car and tapped on the window to make a noise). There was no damage to either car as photos show at the time. She said she would check when she had better light, then texted to say the whole of the side was dented! She never sent me photos nor replied to my texts. However, she reported to my insurer, alleged her passenger was also injured, but more than three months later nothing from her or her company. My insurer has agreed that there are no marks, scuffs or anything to my car.
As it was my husband's car and policy, they have increased his premium by £156. They have also charged me an additional £120 on my insurance with them as I also have a car and policy. They have now classified it as 'no fault' and refunded 1/3 of the charges, but we are still out of pocket and it will cost us on both policies going forward. I want it reclassified as opened in error as no accident took place.
They have made money out of us but have done nothing to follow up this scam; Can we get this off our policies and the money back? Thank you. Read more
I wonder if anyone can clarify this situation.
We have a nearly 4 year old grandaughter, who uses a child's car seat. The original straps are now too short for her so we secure her into the seat using the standard seat belt.... Read more
Personally, if I was in doubt, I'd buy her a seat designed for her age. Cost just doesn't come into it where kids are concerned.
Do you know if VAG has started to adopt the "Manifold in Head" technology that other makers (GM, Renault) have used to good effect in attempting to eliminate DPF problems in their diesel engines? Read more
Ford have also, no aware of any VAG but is only petrol engines as far as I am aware. It's more to do with cost saving and lighter engines etc.

The real discount comes when you preserve your NCB because you can prove you were not at fault. Sorry to state the obvious.

Hi, first time poster although an avid reader for some time. Driving along the M42 near Shirley last Friday which is covered by Variable Speed Limit Camera's, traffic is light & as I approach one between J4 & 3a they change to 50 limit. Quick look in my mirror & a car close behind so choose not to brake (my speed about 70) but to lift off for a few seconds. I didn't see a flash but what do you think? I have a dash cam fitted thankfully which I will show to the court if needed www.youtube.com/watch?v=gymqsEDDMJo
Thanks Read more
From info provided by Highways Agency there is a 60 second interval between change of limit and cameras activating.
Wonder if anyone could help. I brought a infiniti fx30s in November. The three yr manufactures warranty ran out on 12/03/15 and infiniti don't do a extended warranty scheme. . Sod's law was looking into taking a warranty out with warranty direct and my reversing camera and parking sensors have stop working. I took it to my nearest infiniti dealer Glyn Hopkins St. Albans who have just quoted me £1500 to replace the camera unit. I asked if there was any chance of a goodwill gesture from infiniti uk. And told very unlikely they would be willing to make any concession. Any suggestions where I might get it repaired cheaper. ? Read more
Thx for your response, in answer to ? Has full Infinti service with last major one done late September just before I bought the car, the car has only done 34 k miles. When we test drove one before we bought it my wife was a bit concerned about the all the gizmos on the car but the salesman answer was its Japanese nothing every goes wrong. Just goes to show don't believe anything a car salesman tells you. Had it confirmed from Infiniti that no concession is forth coming for the repair.

That's probably an issue with the performance management scheme the parking co saddle their staff with than the staff themselves.

Hello all,
I had the standard Ford Focus turbo failure. I'm pretty sure it was due to a blocked oil strainer. I went for the refurbished BTN turbo with the fitting kit including the new oil feed pipe, banjo bolts, gaskets and copper seals. I also changed the oil filter and changed the oil after having totally cleaned out the sump. I cleaned basically any pipe that was going to or from the turbo.... Read more
You should be able to feel the suction with your finger but would need a guage to check if it was correct.
No suction would mean you need to check further back towards the vacuum pump.
