You purchased a GM car, this things happen with them, alot.
Hi folks, I was wondering could you possibly give me some advice. I currently own 2 x 2004 jaguar xtype .. One is my main run around sporting 110k miles on the clock, the other I bought cheap with 210k miles on the clock, basically for parts and so forth. I have been striping the one with big mileage basically to get myself familarised with this engine and its parts.
When I came across the erg valve I noticed the diameter of the hole had decreased by50%! This got me wondering about my main run around. I've been doing some research online about removing the erg valve completely from her as I don't like the fact it is partially smokey at low revs or when I put the boot down. When revved it's fine, only seems to be a little smokey when overtaking or accelerating hard. I have guessed it might use more mpg, this I can deal with as it's quite gentle on my pocket as is. I like the fact on the other hand it might be a little sharper and breathe easier.... Read more
i used to have issues with my x type smoking and a stutter at about 2000rpm, it would go away if I cleaned the egr out with brake cleaner, would last about 30k and then need doing again. I didn't blank it off because I'd heard the eml would stay on, which I know would annoy me. Sounds like it's time for a new clutch for sure.
I live in Australia and on visits to the UK I have been amazed by how many people are speeding on the motorways. We have lots of people speeding over here also but no where near the numbers in the UK and not by such big amounts over the limits.
I think in the UK we always seem to be in a hurry to do everything these days - on many occasions did I get criticised by my boss and colleagues for leaving for meetings 10 mins earlier than they would and driving at safe speeds - my boss at the time often drove down to meetings at 90mph on the motorways and a good 10mph above speed limits on local road, except for the short distance after the speed cameras (dangerous breaking)!...

As I came to a stop at a roundabout my car cut out. I restarted and continued and when I braked and came to a stop at the next junction the cut out again. No noises. Car had ran smoothly. No judder or engine noise or anything to suggest a problem. However, I couldn't restart and it's now at a garage.... Read more
I think there are know issues with the timing chain depending on which engine you have.
The engine may not turning over because the engine is jammed due to valves locations being wrong....
Today I read that several trains are being cancelled to minimise the number that run over a defective piece of track at Leeds City station. (These include the popular services to Manchester Airport and other Transpennine services).
It is stated that this dodgy piece of track cannot be repaired properly till early June.... Read more

Why would it - you may very well have meant that ... :-)
Hi I have a 01 ford focus it has started to overheat.
I have changed the thermostat valve and water pump.
When it starts to overheat the needle goes to red when I slow down it returns to the middle. On occasion I had to pull off the road and open the water tank when I do that I can here a gurgling sound coming from the coolant hose that Leeds to the back of the engine.
Any ideas what I could do next? Read more
In those narrow pipes are 2 restrictors with a 2mm hole. Flushing system loosens dirt which inturn plugs the narrow holes. The pressure forces the restrictors down the pipes so will have to check by feeling where they are, I cut the pipes dead centre of the restrictors. Removed cleaned and put back and coupled the pipes back together. I would not remove the restrictors they are there for areason. So if you don't see water flowing back to the header tank thats the reason. Fitting brand new anti-freeze somewhat masks the problem but you will have suspicions something isn't quite right, how many Fords have been scrapped cause of this I wouldn't like to guess.

Hey, if you air conditioning has stopped working. I think it is necessary to contact the support service you yourself will not solve this problem but by me, you better buy an A/C and ask guys from https://www.socool.sg/ air conditioning servicing to come and install it. No need to play with the electric blanket, it is just a loss of time.
The internal driver's side door handle on my C250 registered Nov. 2009 with 54000 miles on the clock has a broken, the dealer has quoted £547.00 to repair as the handle hinges on the internal door panel and the whole panel will have to be replaced. This seems outrageously expensive, any suggestions?
