Mercedes-Benz C-Class C250CDI - Repair internal door handle - CliveD

The internal driver's side door handle on my C250 registered Nov. 2009 with 54000 miles on the clock has a broken, the dealer has quoted £547.00 to repair as the handle hinges on the internal door panel and the whole panel will have to be replaced.This seems outrageously expensive, any suggestions?

Find one in a scrappy, or ask a MB independent garage for a price for the job.

The UK is full of excellent MB independent garages who know their stuff and won't rip you off.

Use the MB owners websites to find one local to you with a good reputation.

This is a very common problem and MB should be doing something to offer some contribution to the repair.The handle system can be "fixed" as a semi permanant repair by re-drilling another hole in the plastic release arm and attaching the release cable with a cable tie.

MB have now offered £214 towards the cost, after a bit of urging,the cable tie solution sounds good to me, thanks
