Everyone knows that the moment they drive that new car of the lot, it loses a good percentage of its value. The longer you own your vehicle and the more you drive it, the more its value depreciates. Though all vehicles depreciate in value over time, not all depreciate at the same rate. Car buyers looking for a good investment would be wise to consider one of the following ten cars. They depreciate slower than any other vehicles.

10. Honda CR-V. In one year, the Honda CR-V will lose 9% of its value. While that might sound high, it’s good enough for number 10 on this list.

9. Toyota FJ Cruiser (tie). The Toyota FJ Cruiser is tied with number 8 on this list. It loses just 8.7% of its value in the first year.

8. Nissan Versa (tie). Like the FJ Cruiser, the Nissan Versa loses just 8.7% of its value in 12 months.

7. Scion xB. You can expect to recoup most of the cost if you change your mind and sell the Scion xB after just one year. You’d only lose 8.2% of what you paid for it.

6. Mercedes G-Class. If you purchase a Mercedes G-class, you could drive it for a year and still sell it for 92% of the cost you bought it for. It depreciates just 8% in 12 months.

5. Nissan Frontier. The Nissan Frontier dips into the 7% range losing just 7.9% of its value in the first year.

4. Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. At a depreciation rate of 7.1% for year one, the Jeep Wrangler is a pretty good investment.

3. Toyota Tacoma. The Toyota Tacoma is the pickup truck to buy if you’re looking for a vehicle that will keep its value longer. The Tacoma loses just 6.9% of its value in its first year.

2. Subaru Impreza. There’s a big jump between number 3 and number 2 on this list. The Subaru Impreza only depreciates by 3% in the first year.

1. Land Rover Range Rover. If you’re looking for a great investment, look no further than the Land Rover Range Rover. This one makes the list as a technicality since it doesn’t actually depreciate in the first year. You can sell your Range Rover for 3.3% more than you paid for it one year after buying it. Of course, you have to have a lot of spare change sitting around to be able to buy the Range Rover in the first place.

If you decide to invest in one of these cars, make sure to protect your investment by purchasing high quality insurance at an affordable rate. For a quote call xxxx

I have a Renault laguna mark 2. 2007 .actually a 57 plate. Beside the nightmare scenario with the drivers side front and rear windows the radio has decided to work wen it wants.. is there a common reason for this ?, sometimes it works for days then nothing. Obviously this is causing the sat navigation not to speak either altho the display is there. Same with the radio. Channels are visible but no volume. Help Read more

In the past had "random" light issues - it was a faulty earth - loosen/clean/tighten and the issues of random lights/flashing symbols etc vanished.

Sorry it's a long one!!

We bought a Kia Carens 06 Diesel on the 28th January. Full service history (bar 1 stamp), 1 owner, tidy car, seemed fine £1750). I've always bought 2nd hand cars as been brought up with them and usually pick well. This time I think I was obscured by the fact we were desperate for a new car. We bought from a car dealer, doesn't have a forecourt but is a registered trader with a registered company.... Read more

Pulling into the middle of the road.. slowing down I thought I had not put the clutch pedal down properly as getting it into gear was like trying to push an elephant through a needle.. indicating desire to turn right and sitting waiting patiently was mortified to find that the CLUTCH was utterly useless.. could not move it from neutral into first... So on go the hazzard warning lights.. causing much mahem... Thankfully two young lads pushed me to safety... One of them trying the CLUTCH to no avail... I tried.. nope.. nada.. tried a few more times before ringing the RAC... Mortifiying beyond words because over an hour of waiting the RAC technician had the CLUTCH working straight away and for sure thought me a complete idiot! ~ Drove the car followed by RAC to local Garage and they have come back and said three different people have driven the car.. no problems with the CLUTCH however the Catalytic Converter needs replaced... At the time of the USELESS CLUTCH incident I was concerned because the engine management light had come on again... ~ Could the TWO be related?? I had just bombed down a Dual Carriageway for about 10 miles before this... The Garage Mechanics truly do think I am nuts.. I'm sure my partner thinks I've made it up.. but the CLUTCH FAILED.. simples... Any ideas on this while the Garage fix a new CATALYTIC CONVERTER would be greatly appreciated... Many thanks in advance.. and seriously.. I did not have a psychotic episode but I need to feel safe in my Car as I use it on very busy fast driving roads for work and don't want a CLUTCH Failure again... :)

Thank you so much for replying!! The Diagnostics indicated the need of a new Cat... ~ The RAC Engineer did mention linkage upon pulling up.. but said could not see anything and then proceded to drive the car... I will ring the garage in the morning and ask them to check what you've mentioned and fingers crossed if it is the case it is not hugely expensive and easily sortable.. the car needs to come back asap.. Huge thank you's.. at least I can speak to them armed with something they can easily check out... :)

Exactly. However, Japanese were cheap, now they compete on quality as manufacturing costs in Japan are high. We may see the same thing with the Chinese, as wage costs increase, they can no longer compete purely on price. If you've ever dealt with Chinese people you'll know they will be world leaders before long, or at least the equals.

If you have described it properly, ie HPI, not HDI, then that is a 2 litre petrol engine. It was not in production for long and the amount of technical knowledge generally available for it is limited. It is a complex unit....
