For some time I have had a problem with the airbag warning lights staying on. This happens whether or not the airbag is switched off with the key. I'm not very concerned and it's not affected the MOT. However today the oil pressure light is coming on. I am not losing oil - I've just done my usual daily 40 mile commute - and the engine seems to be running at normal temperature. Though there is a slight smell of oil. Should I be concerned? If you have checked the oil level and its OK the pressure sensor is probably faulty. Airbag light could be a number of things.

I'm talking about 'Automotive engineering: Light vehicle maintenance & repair' career.

Q1-
For those out there in industry (garages, franchise etc), i'm wondering which qualification is the more advanced/prestigue ? Add which you would prefer ?

Q2-
Is the Level 3/2/etc for C&G equivilent to say L3/2 with IMI? Is the IMI still an NVQ type qualification?

I'm doing a full-time city & guilds Level 2 and struggling to find a L3 apprenticeship as employers seem to be off put by the fact i'm over 25.

So if I have to continue on to L3 as a full time course instead of apprenticeship the problem is most colleges don't offer it, and those that do it is the IMI Level 3 instead of C&Gs...

Instead go for the equivalent of hnc/hnd in engineering and you will learn to be an engineer not a fitter.

Iwould have preferred some qualified people instead of what we were sent.....

I bought Mazda6/2009/2.2/Diesel/TS2/45K from Mazda Used Car Dealer with 1yr Mazda Approved Used Car warranty on 8/02/15. MOT was regular always done at Mazda dealers. Last MOT was dated on 01/12/2014.

While I was driving back from work on 18/03/2015 oil light started blinking like signal light and car started losing power. I have stop the car immediately on the road side and called warranty guys. Since it is out of working hours they mentioned that they will arrange pick-up the next day morning and dropped it to closest Mazda service station.... Read more

Yes, it was for Pipes and hoses they charged me 177.17 incl VAT.

When I picked up the argument regarding the treatment I received when I had replacment car, time assesor took to give assessment report back to service centre and the cost for my travel within that time they said they will wave off that costs by covering them too....

Car has done 50k miles and engine has seized. BMW say this is due to bottom bearings seizing due to insufficient oil reaching bearings. Vehicle regularly serviced by non-BMW garage who have used 5-30 oil. BMW have denied any responsibility as they say 0-30 oil should have been used. All my web searches show 5-30 oil is acceptable. Has anyone else had a similar problem and should I expect any compensation from BMW. I bought the car new from BMW Read more

This link appeared in the Telegraph. I watched the video with interest but afterwards wondered how many cars were used in the filming. Does anybody know ?
