Hi all wonder if I could have a few pointers please, I will take to a garage next week but just after some advice before.
This eve I noticed water dripping from underneath I have an inkling about AC but worried about coolant pipe.
It's definitely water it's clear and tasteless but why is it leaking.
The car drives faultless however a few weeks ago I had the AC on for about 45 min / hour and the temp gauge nudged a tad to the right, soon as I turned AC off it went back to centre. I once had a car that did the same.
Any advice would be great & really appreciated
Thanks in advance Read more

My 2010 auris hybrid runs on michelin primacy hp r17 tyres. I love the car and agree with everything Honest John says in his road test. But road noise is intrusive. Do I have the right tyres? Read more
Have you been pondering that since 2013, Keith?
Been working on Son-in-Laws Vectra. Poorly maintained but runs well. Recently engine light coming on and staying on. Error code comes back as faulty cam sensor. Replaced twice, still registers same fault. If fault was cam sensor would expect car to run but badly. Car runs like a dream, sweet smooth, acelerates well, seems desperate to get up into high 70's when being driven, revs don't seem to be restricted. BUT! for no reason and seemingly at random, engine just stops as though key turned off. Wait a few seconds starts fine, pulls away fine accelerates fine then Revs just drop off counter. Been round cars all my life but never come across anything like this. Is it possible imobiliser chip in key or sender / receiver breaking down?? Get no error codes but have no way of monitoring it in transit. So far have spent large sums of money with garage & auto electrician. So far everything they have told me was wrong.
Well I suppose it might have been something else, but once I became convinced it was on ECU / Imobilisor line, checking around, Auto leccie check up & Re-flashing key around £80, or otherwise replace ECU, Key reader transponder and chip £50 second hand delivered. replacing ECU took around 1Hr. all told. Car seems to be running fine.
We're off to Florida soon and I am a bit confused as to what insurance i need, last time they tried to sell me all sorts and I want to be clear exactly what i need. Also my brother in law reckons the 2n d driver will need some sort of form from the post office which I've never heard of , facts please! Read more

Hello
I've had this problem since i had a new engine fitted in my FIAT STILO 1.9JTD. It's a ticking/clicking noise that is present when the engine is started and goes away when revs are increased. I've had a new crank pulley, clutch pulley and 3 alternator belts. All the new parts fixed the problem for about a week or so but the noise gradually comes back. I've got no idea what to look for next. I have posted this on the fiat forum and have had replies but it seems people are stuck, like me! This is my post on the FF http://www.fiatforum.com/stilo/319939-alternator-belt-squeak.html. The mechanic i'm dealing with says that the belt is losing tension thus resulting in this noise. One of the belts did get quite loose and started to squeak which was sorted with another new belt but the noise came back. Like i said earlier this is a new (well to me) engine and i never had this problem with my last engine. I've had the alternator tested and apparently is fine but the noise wan't present at that time. I've also made a video of the noise which is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADbekrVOe3w The last new part that was fitted was a new crank pulley last Thursday and all has been well until this morning when i started the car and a heard the first early signs of the noise coming back. It will now (again!) get worse similar to how it is in the video.... Read more
Just a thought, could the pulleys be misaligned causing the belt to jump or wear prematurely? Or could the seized clutch pulley have knackered something in the alternator?

Hello, I need some advice.
The wife's car developed a problem with the tailgate opening a couple of times then the thing would not open at all. Anyway, I popped to see the local Citroen Dealer, they said it was the Micro Switch needed replacing, then the whole handle component, then it needed a new loom, oh and it had to go on the testing machine, could be the brain of the car EXPENSIVE! ... Once again a survey that assumes car buying and owning is all about money.
My Mother in Law would probably save money if she got rid of her car and took cabs everywhere, as could other low mileage users. I could "save" money according to this survey if I switched to petrol, but I like driving diesels, and yes I have tried the new Ford and VAG blown petrols and didn't like them....
Ordered the car in April 2012 with an estimated delivery date of July 2012. July came and went and a new delivery date of the end of 2012 was given. After chasing Ford head office customer relations direct eventually got delivery on 1 June 2013. When picking up the vehicle was told that there had been a price increase in September 2012 and of course our part exchange value had gone down. We were asked to pay AN ADDITIONAL £7,000 on top of the originally agreed price. Ford HQ will give us 2 services free for the inconvenience. Absolutely disgusted with Ford for not honouring the original price agreed seeing as it was there fault for the massive delay. Has anyone else had the same problems? What are the legal implications? I have paid most but kept back a few thousand pounds until something is sorted out. HELP Read more
There are two price issues here. The contract on the p/ex would usually be for the market rate at the time, but one can get firm prices in advance. Not that common, but can be got, I've had one which guarenteed the price of the p/ex some months later. If this applied, the dealer would have been saying so.
Most contracts for a new vehicle are based on the price ruling at the time of dispatch. So if the MRP goes up - the price you pay goes up by the same %. So if you had a 6% discount, the extra should also be discounted by the same amount. However, you do have a case for a rather better discount since the dealer hasn't had to work for the extra money....

I wouldn't expect that during driving, unless you are in a hot climate - where are you?...
