I recently contacted ASDA by email who are about to open a new supermarket in Dumfries, asking whether they intend to sell LPG at the new included service station. My enquiry generated a phone call from a member of their staff who informed me verbally that NO LPG facility would be provided.... and furthermore ASDA were seriously considering REMOVING all present LPG pumps at their existing stores.

I explained that LPG is a greener solution than either Petrol or Diesil but he stated that this was an economy measure and could offer no further help. ... Read more

Coopers Mk2

Hello - I am new to the Forum and hope someone out there can help me coz I'm at my wits end!

My '89 Mk2 Golf GTi has a rough ideling problem that started last Dec when it was trying to cut out at every juntion and eventually did when I couldnt start it for about 20 mins. After reading many other Forums and several hundred pounds later, I have so far: replaced the coil, HT leads, spark plugs, distributor unit +cap+ rotor arm, fuel pressure regulator, blue chip sensor, knock sensor, checked all vaccuum pipes for leaks - one was replaced, tried 2 new ISV (made no difference, with the original being better than the new ones), cleaned out and re-set the (original) ISV, cleaned out the throttle body, 'spaceship', rocker cover vent grill, and air flow meter; checked that the micro switches 'click', had a diagnostic timing/mixture/tickover set up, had a compression test and pressure test (the latter found cylinders slightly down on perfect but car is 24yrs old!). Also had a new exhaust manifold fitted as the old one was blowing severly.... Read more

Thinking of ordering some new tyres - supply only - online from Camskill.co.uk. Anyone had dealings with them, good or bad? Prices seem very competitive

Thanks. Read more

I spent some time living in West Cumbria a few years ago and started using Camskill for my tyres at the recommendation of work colleagues. They have workshop facilities onsite and always offered good honest advice; I always came away feeling positive about my visit.

Since moving down to the South West a number of years ago I still use Camskill periodically for mail order due to keen pricing and quick delivery. I have no problems to report aside from the annual availability issues with 'all-season M+S' tyres that now seem to affect all retailers... I have now learned to buy tyres in advance - before winter kicks in!...
